Just curious...

Average age is 40 mate,a mix of different Regiments,including SAS,Para's and Royal Marines,and 9 Argyll's.
90% of the team in this rotation are Scottish, most from the same Regiment
Excuse for a question, and what status at these people? In sense, they are military men? Serve in private campaign? Or it is a variant of " wild geese "?
Photos, very picturesque people have very much liked, I with your permission have kept them on the computer as I the artist specializing on military subjects, and to pass by such beauty, simply not could
Here a fertile theme for the film-action.Here what director could remove about it film? John Vu? Ridlly Skott?

Cool, thanks for the reply Argyll...
With that said, there is a dramatic difference, visually between you and the the Americans that are over there...at least in a majority of the photos I have seen.
Is there any interaction between your teams and theirs?
If so, is there a difference between teams or is it "we are all over here doing the same work" mutual respect type of thing.
Just curious. Your team exudes experience and a no-nonsense look while the other teams sort of look sort of...well...young and full of bravado...
I know I am generalizing and I mena absolutely no dosrespect towards ANY of the teams...I know a goodly number of the the other teams are quiet experienced when it comes to prior military experience. Your guys just look bad-assed...in a sort of 1960s ex-Arnhem vets...sort of way (trying to stay away from the cliche "Wild Geese" analogy...).

Thatīs the reason why I was asking. Iīve never heard that the Jordanians were/are producing small arms. So I thought "Jordanian scorpion" is some kind of slang for short AKs.
Btw Itīs not an AMD-65. You can easily indentify this Hungarian AK-variant by its fore grip ->

to be "Technical" the shorter AK's are either Yugoslav (Zastava) M-92 or they are Iraqi made Tabuk carbines. Iraq did manufacture the Kalashnikov, which these, are nearly indentical to the Yugoslav M-70 series.
The other AK's are, East German MpikMS-72 (AKMS) wire-type, side-folding stock and a brown bakelite handguards.
As for the chaps in the photo, tough work, good job, keep those Al-sadr boys inline!

Written on the right side of the weapon is "Tabuk".......give the man a prize, the flash eliminator is crap,it keeps unthreading itself, otherwise it's a pretty good weapon.........I never had any stoppages in 120 rounds fired the other day, some of the other AK's had plenty.
We were told these were Jordanian scorpions by the boss, the good news is the M4's have been bought, and are awaiting a signature of acceptance for use in Iraq

Those jams might still be a question of ammo used... Argyll I understand you as a PMC used some proven ammo - or rather bought whats locally available (I guess its quite aesy to get 7.62x39 over there)?
Argyll
06-12-2004, 01:59 PM
Actually the ammo is a mix,at times it's whatever you can get your hands on,this was not out operational ammo, but training ammo,a lot of stoppages was due to weapon cleanliness too,I clean mine daily,I never oil it up unless it's at the ranges, oil gathers the fine dust, and I keep the weapon in a clean conditionat all times...........same as my Glock

No mate ... Use hot water (i mean , boiling water) , it will dry very quick in the heat there , wash with it the insides of the weapon (that is if you use AK) , works like a charm . If you want , use very little oil on flanel , and don't forget to oil the important parts , like butt stock and **** . ;)

Water and steel......I guess someone didn't do chemistry at school. Use of a dry lubricant is a far smarter idea than using water, and it will actually act as a lubricant....

Thank you mate . Somehow it worked perfectly good for me ;) .
Boiled water is drying very fast , it's one , and AK steal isn't too much catching rast , is too . And three , as i wrote , it's good to aplly small amount of oil (9105 if you want . WD40 will do the trick as well) where you washed it . Works as a charm , cleans the weapon excellent in smallest holles .
If you think that i ment it as a weapon lubricant , you are the crazy one , dude !! rofl

Are you issued a base weapon(eg an M4 or AK) at all? I understand extras have to be bought, but I'd of thought they would issue you a standardised weapon...
The longs we currently have were purchased locally(AK's),the Glocks were also bought but shipped in Via Kuwait, the M4's will come via Kuwait also.
There's a rapid increase on attacks on PSD's rescently, and a lot of PSD companies are getting very windy about it,along with their clients, the attack on BSC was one of the most proffesional attacks yet,and also worrying, the ASU involved is very well trained, after they hit the BSC team, they dismounted approximately 150m's from them, and actaully began a fire and manouevre "advance to contact" towards the surviving PSD team,at the same time another element of the ASU debussed and were doing the same towards the rear, after the reamining 3 operators began taking hits themselves, and with ammo low, they managed to exfil across the centre reservation and bugged out.
