My friend got salty today and sent me this email. I missed the show, thankfuly, but I thought I would share. :)

*******

....did anyone happen to see the Today Show this morning? Katie Couric
goes to the showing of Reagan's remains and interviews Sarah Brady and
her gimpy husband at the site. You could watch the mourners making their way through the line as Brady droned on about how strongly Reagan supported the Brady Bill and the Assault Weapons Ban and how the Ban should be extended because Reagan had "supported it with all his heart and sole" and that an extension of the ban would be a "tribute to Reagan"

....her husband had obviously been made-up to look EXTRA-pathetic and
Couric, of course, played that for all it was worth. There was a pretty
obvious effort to make the audience uncomfortable watching this poor
bastard struggle to talk. Couric would ask him a question and there
would be these 15 second pauses as this sad f*cker tried desperately to
make his larynx work. Rather than follow standard interview protocol and
help the guy through his own statements, Couric would just sit there and
let this dude make the "Gollum" noise; the camera would then pan out to
catch Katie's "pity face".

...and NATURALLY they showed the footage of him taking the bullet for
The Gipper

...is anyone else offended by the notion of turning Reagan's showing
into a pulpit from which Sarah Brady can proselytize about gun laws?

...would anyone else like to beat Katie Couric to death with their bare
hands and take a snapshot of the moment her eyes go dim and that shrill
voice is extinguished forever...

Reagan probably owned more guns than Charlton Heston for chrissakes.

I for one have long supported punching Katie Couric in the face. I can't stand that bubble-headded twit. Her histrionic style is like nails on a chalkboard to me.

That letter is funny - I especially dug the:

That's good stuff.

...and I don't remember Reagan being a big Brady bill supporter...though I could be wrong...

One of my all time favorite Katie Couric moments was when they initially announced G.W. Bush as the winner of the election...she had this look on her face like someone was holding a turd under her nose.

Priceless. rofl

I have always hated Katie Couric. I think she's the worst interviewer I have ever seen. She's unprofessional, asks moronic questions, and is horribly biased against conservatives.

My favorite Couric moment was during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympics in Salt Lake City. The Iraqi national team was walking into the stadium and Katie bubbles on, "Here's the Iraqi national team, a country part of President Bush's 'Axis of Evil'...." WTF? It's the Olympics, you don't talk about politics!!

My friend has this way with words. I do not think I have ever heard someone as creative as him when flinging insults.

He used to carry his USP around with him in the glovebox of his truck and one night on OSU campus he was sitting parked waiting to pick-up his now finacee from an evening class. A bunch of punks started ****ing with his car not realizing he was in the heavily tinted Land Rover. One of the guys was f*cking with the passenger side rearview mirror, so he quietly pulled the gun out of the glove box...cranked up KMFDM and lowered the window...scared the dudes sh*tless.

To me the funniest thing about this whole thing is that he is something like 4'9" tall...

Now he is studying to become a lawyer. rofl

Well I wouldn't condone any violence upon her admittedly biased and prejudiced person. I would point out to those of you that posted in the "FOX news must die thread" that here is a clear example of a major news network making their own liberal stance on an event that shouldn't bear any political relevance other than to honor a dead President.

I don't know **** about her, but making political agenda out of a person's death is pretty ****ing low.

Besides, if you're gonna exploit something for political means, then do it for something worthwhile. The assault rifle ban as it is now is totally rediculous. :|

The best one I have seen today was "How would Reagan end the Muslim madness?" by Gal Luft. These people never miss a chance to further their political and journalistic objectives, just sometimes journalist's make your skin crawl and I mean both those from the left and the right.

Yeah, sort of manipulating the ceremony is pretty low. I mean, I can't condone violence against her, but we-the message board, the media, whoever-should probably hold off on politics and analysis until after President Reagan has been buried. That manipulation is just plain horribly disrespectful to the deceased, to the grieving family, to the nation, and it certainly doesn't make the pro-Brady Ban lobby look very good. And I'm saying this as someone who didn't care much for President Reagan. You wouldn't show up at a funeral and say how crappy a person the deceased was, right? Same deal. :|

Molly, how about Tim Russert? :D He was pretty soft on President Bush, so he lost a little respect from me there, but he's pretty good usually. Dan Rather and that Hussein interview- :cantbeli: . Very, very soft. Why even do the interview if your just going to be the guy's stool pigeon? Anyways, have a good one all, and just some thoughts...

Man, I hate news anchors who act like they care. On Fox News earlier today, they had this guy who was back from Afghanistan and was promoting his book, and I guess it was one of those talk-live kinda things and she was staning infront of the audience and talking about how hard it was for him and that she knew and understood. It's sick...
