I have a close friend in Special Operations who returned from the war in June. He will be going "off" again in August.....I know that with Special Operations everything is on a "Need to Know" basis, but I was just wondering if any of you guys might have any insight as to where we might be sending our Special Ops people to next. You see, this person is very imprtant to me and I tend to worry alot. We kept in touch via email while he was recently deployed but I don't know if where he will be going next will provide that opportunity. My only hope is that it will not be to Africa....I especially don't want him to go there.

I've noticed that sometimes people tend to get blasted (I know I sure did in one of the photo albumns after putting my two cents in) on here for asking questions or for posting their opinions....please be gentle in your responses. I am by no means a military expert, or an armchair general, or a kid (27 yrs...but the kid part could be debated among some who know me), or even a man.... and most of the things y'all talk about on here...weapons and such....are really beyond my knowledge. I'm nothing more than a concerned friend and a truly pariotic American who stands behind our military 150%. But, if anyone on here might be able to enlighten me just a little I sure would appreciate it. Thanks

I hope he can stay home until he gets out of the military. If it was up to me, he wouldn't have to go anywhere. Back to the sandbox? A-stan? I do not have any sources beyond the regular news. I will cross my fingers for him, though.

You really never know when or where they could be sent. Is he Army, Navy?
I know you dont want him to go to Africa but this is a good read really sorry I could not find the entire thing.

U.S. SpecOps, now joined by the 10th Mountain Division, occupy desolate Djibouti, a former backwater now on the fast-track as a jumping-off point for the War On Terror.
