1) Spent cartridges are ejected only to the right so south paws had better watch out!
2) Looks stupid to have arms drill with.
3) Built in IR-laser is just added weight since the Singapore Armed Forces do not issue NVGs to regular troops.
4) Doesn't require zeroing 'out of the box'.
5) Difficult to switch fire selector button compared to M16.
This is what the Singaporeans think of it.

Interesting.
Having only put a couple of mags through our own SAR21, i cant answer to your 1st point.
Yes, it looks stupid to have arms drill with, but we manage. We're not exactly the 1st country to use bullpup rifles. France and Isreal come to mind, not to mention austria also.
As to who was the bright spark that wanted an built in laser, i have no idea, but it's neat having something built in, not something that has to be signed out for seperately.
Since the rifle doesnt need zeroing, you could now theoretically yank conscripts out of school, hand them rifles and ammo, and give them a short briefing. Cannon fodder anyone?
I agree that it's difficult to operate the fire selector, but practice makes perfect.
And i am in the Singapore Armed Forces.

?
To be brutally honest, not so good.
Conditions? A lot of drama going on.... cover ups, and the like..
Gear quality? Commandos/SOF get the best available weaponry, next down the line are the Guard units. Infantry/Support arms make do with leftovers. Until today, Artillery hasnt seen a single SAR21 anywhere.
Me? Ex 155mm gunner.
