Not necessarily.........
I give 100% credit to Robert Kiyosaki for his prediction of a baby boomer investment bubble and crash.
I'm not sure whether the call he made was prescient or just dumb luck...doesn't matter really....he WAS right.
But it's also worth noting that there are some people who have performed their due diligence on the guy and found him to be LACKING in regards to:
Statements he made about his military service(He served as a helicopter pilot I believe) may have been exaggerated or grossly exaggerated according to some allegations.
Statements made about his investments didn't stack up according to the same allegations....he was not listed as either property owner or company shareholder/director in a number of states he claimed to have investments and businesses.
To me, he comes across with a lot of vague non-answers........but has occasionally made good long-term calls.
At the end of the day, his accusers seemed to think he capitalized on exaggerated military service and exaggerated investment/business success to sell books/tapes/seminars.
In other words, his success stems not from investment/business success....but from book/seminar/speaking engagement success touting investment/business success.
It's one thing to MAKE a good call......suprisingly it's often far harder for most to be financially positioned and prepared to decisively ACT on it.
Personally, I think the guy has served his country and has become financially successful.....which is more than what most people achieve....but he gives me the willies

Don't know myself.......He served his country......but seems to have a long history of embellishment.
He has had some good hits on rough boom/bust timelines...BUT....he comes across like he's part of the psychic investor's network.......he can say EVERYTHING...so down the road he can pull out a few past quotes that seem spooky accurate.
When you're firing a shotgun a thousand times with your eyes closed in the dark.....you're likely to get a few shot on target. :)
I'm skeptical.......and I haven't had the chance to see the vids.

Yeah thats actually a well known con trick send out like 100,000 letters to investors saying to half that you have a system that says the market will go up...other half the market will go down...
Then depending send another 50,000 letters saying similar...to those youve been "proven" right too. 25,000 in the next step etcetc.
3 or 4 steps down recipients might be thinking you have something in it... then ask for say $50 for the next tip bingo probably a few hundred sukkers...
HOWEVER still not exactly sure that applies to Rich Dad - whether its merely detractors knocking a succesful bloke.
Having said that i found it a bit obscene there obvious glee about things going **** up in the youtube clip - kinda darkly funny p-)
I still think "Rich dad poor dad" is a great book and good advice - but yeah he does need scrutiny...
Heh must admit i can dole out spot on advice to 3rd parties - i find myself fukking retarded when it comes to applying it to myself.. .;)
thread titles more and more ridiculous those days...

You don't buy for "right now."
