Haha no :D Dunno, maybe they signify office chairs, symbolizing the sudden attack of the building - as if all the victims were sitting in their office chairs the moment they died.

What precautions do the US take when training new army recruits so they don't take all that they've learnt and desert to the insurgents?

:| i think that's more just a matter of individual pride, and the fact the insurgents would probably kill them regardless.

An elderly Palestinian shouts at Israeli soldiers during a protest by Palestinians against the construction of a new section of the separation barrier which goes over their land in the northern West Bank village of Al-Zawieh 13 June 2004. Palestinian villagers have been protesting since 07 June to try to prevent a new stretch of the barrier from being built on their land. Israel is building the separation barrier along the West Bank to prevent infiltrations by would-be suicide bombers, but Palestinians say the barrier, which often cuts deep into their territory, is a mere land-grab and pre-empts the borders of their promised state.

PERPIGNAN, FRANCE: The ruins of the former French concentration camp of Rivesaltes in the eastern Pyrenees appear 13 June 2004, two days after the discovery of the defacement of its "Fresco of the Jewish Children" painted in 1942 on the facade of its former Swiss Aid station. Vandals apparently pierced a wall to enter a fenced enclosure nominally protecting the "fresco" in the middle of the decomposing site. Camp Rivesaltes, set up with other French detention camps in 1936 for anti-Franco refugees from the Spanish Civil War, held thousands of Jews and Gypsies for deportation in the Holocaust, but today the state-owned property languishes in decay. No complaint has yet been filed for the vandalism discovered Friday, but authorities have opened an investigation. The French state ran set up and ran more than 100 camps during the Holocaust.

I love shots like this. Must take perfect timing or incredible luck on the part of the photographer.

I think it's red and not black - and if I'm right, it's Russian flag.

Btw, had anyone else noticed how the smaller res sniper picture was modified so it will be more striking? If anyone wants the higher res picture with the same effect - message me.

It can't be upside down because the text is not upside down...

Eeeeeek!!!!! Bessbrook Mill Helipad. I had 6 months of listening to the incessant whine of helicopter engines while I was on tour there in Jan-Jul 91.

Remember seeing some asshole debus where the Lynx is on the left side is (we were stood just out of the left side of the pic area) and jumping up that stepped area without realising the Lynx on the right was spinning up.

We all flinched, looked like the top op his helmet was literally an inch under the rotors and we were all expecting a big spray of blood n **** when his head got torn off!!

I remember he got his ass chewed severely by the guy who managed the pad for being such a dumbass!!
