Wooohooo! Good news! Only problem is that I can't find it anywhere on the news. Care to share a link, or is this from someone that cannot back it up?

Worked for the European Stars and Stripes for several years at their HQ in Griesheim, Germany.
Was a good place to work at.. before the drawdown in the 1990's...
Learned quite a bit of history looking through the old papers and talking to the senior reporters.
Biggest treat was meeting Andy Rooney and Bill Mauldin for the 50th anniversary in 1992.

Oh, I bet that was a REAL treat. :)
Wait...they just took Holland? Hmm...weird. I don't hear any tanks driving around yet. Haven't heard any shooting either. :(

Actually, in person, he's a pretty good guy to talk to.. and not as negative as he usually is on 60 min.

Fintin is stuck in time a little over 60 years into the past. Wouldn't count on the US coming to liberate you anytime soon, Haiw. ;)

That too heh
My parents were the ones that spoke for the longest time with these guys and have some stories. I was 16 at the time, before I worked for the ES&S, so wasn't invited to the party afterward. Sure, it was ok to have a four star there, a couple of congressmen, German dignitaries etc... but no family members
Ah well, at least got to meet them. :D
