J&K first phase polling at 63.75 pc


Srinagar (PTI): The election authorities in Jammu and Kashmir has put the poll percentage in yesterday's first phase of polling at 63.75 per cent.

Chief Electoral Officer B R Sharma, in a late night statement yesterday gave the overall poll percentage in 10 constituencies at 63.75 per cent. As per official figures, a total of 3,66,134 votes were polled in the 10 constituencies with a total electorate of 5,98,162.

Gurez segment with 15,330 votes recorded a turnout of 74.10 per cent, while Sonawari and Bandipora segments with 84,726 and 86013 voters respectively registered a far lower poll percentage of 46.05 and 57.08 per cent.

Similarly, in Ladakh region Nobra seat with least number of voters had the highest turnout of 66.16 per cent while rest of the three constituencies -- Kargil, Leh and Zanskar -- polled around 60 per cent.
In Poonch district, Poonch, Haveli and Mendhar segments recorded just over 73 per cent, while Surankote pulled the district average down by recording 68 per cent turnout.

Is it an ignorance or self-denail ?

no kashmiri went to vote. parties failed to find contestants.. what to talk of voters....

It all fraud.

We want plebiscite as per UN Security Counsel Resolution... not fraud elections...
