Director -- Jeff B. Harmon
Producers -- Jeff B. Harmon & Alexander Lindsay
The war in Afghanistan as seen through the eyes of Haji Latif, 'The Lion of Kandahar,' and his group of Islamic holy warriors. The Soviet and Afghan Armies launched an unsuccessful operation to stop the making of the film, resulting in the deaths of 27 Mujahideen. A Duce Films International Ltd. Production for the BBC and National Geographic Explorer. (52 mins)

AFGAN (1989)

Filmed in Afghanistan with various units of the Soviet Armed Forces just prior to their withdrawal. The film includes combat missions with the Spetsnaz -- the most elite unit of the Soviet Armed Forces, never before filmed by a Western crew. This is a candid look at the other side of the war. A Duce Films International Ltd. Production for Channel 4 (UK) and National Geographic Explorer. (40 mins)

I think I did with this one. If I refer to the correct film, the soundtrack was full of thrilling songs from the Bulgarian State Radio & Television Female Vocal Choir that brought tears :(

Interviews with young soldiers that were so affraid of the "rebels" but indeed combat footages (I can't remember if they were Spetsnazs).

Stunning sharp and close images (and a premiere at that times) of the then mysterious Mil Mi 24 (ie launching flares during take off).
