jet engine's. Also its still an aircraft. The double rotors put in a certain

I'm pretty sure they're trying to come up with that right now. The X-43 uses a scramjet which is capable of theoretically hitting mach 12 or so. iirc the x-43 has already hit mach 9.8 on one of its flights. problem is though, its still a small unmanned aircraft for test purposes and requires it to be shoved onto a Pegasus rocket, loaded onto a B-52, reach altitude, launch rocket, then separate from rocket. Huge use of resources. Problem with flinging something in what I guess you could call a conventional method (somewhat leveled, steady climb) is essentially that its the next best thing to impossible at the moment since you'd need something with enough thrust other than a rocket and capable of taking all that stress and heat from the parasitic drag. A shuttle strapped onto 2 giant rockets is essentially the quickest and easiest way until they can get the scramjets or some other method into full size form.

I also enjoyed and still enjoy reading about what is called exotic science. It also turns out that most of urban legends about black science are about aerospace black projects and almost 70% of them have claimed nazi German history. Now go through the list you wrote and read it like you don't really care about it. Now imagine if somebody wanted to feed the masses with loads of crap, how much would that list differ in context? Add nazis in the soup, it can't fail to impress.

You see, if people lack education you can pretty much feed them anything. This pretty much relates to anything in life.

The only relevant book I read about the subject is Hunt For Point Zero by Nick Cook. He was, when he wrote it Aviation editor for Jane's Weekly, and I think that nobody else could have written book like that and got away with it without being called crazy conspiracy theory overzealous wannabe... His reputation is just too big. Start with that, you'll learn about the founding fathers of the science and read interviews with the real people from Skunkworks and other companies which supposedly built all that crazy stuff you wrote about. It might also give you guidelines for what you really want to study; trust me there's no antigravity 101 at aerospace engineering studies. It will also put you in perspective of what you're dealing with and should make you think twice before posting things like these on forums.

I am a first year undergrad, which means I have a little time to see if I want to go into the engineering field for sure, and a fair amount of science to take also.
