hello everybody!

a friend of mine is working on a 3D project for school, and he's making an UH-1 Huey. But he doesn't seem to find any good pics online (like blueprints, etc.) He already mailed to Bell, but they said he had to send mail to AMCOM (redstone military base). But he still didn't receive an answer.

this was his mail he wrote:

I am currently working on a digital visualisation of the UH-1.
I want to rebuild the UH-1 that served in the vietnam war, as an attack heli.
Because I want this project to be as detailed as possible I started my search for detailed drawings on the internet.
However, I could not find any blueprints that were detailed enough to complete this project.

Could you please send me some front, side and top drawings of a UH-1.
Some scans from an assembly manual,
or an exploded view of the parts of the huey would be even better (or both if possible).
CAD drawings would help a lot too.

You would really help me.
Thanks in advance,

Thank you guys in advance!

Ok, before anyone else jumps down your throat about it, and with you being new here, make sure you check the search engines first. Google.com is the best. That being said, here is some information I've found.

Blueprints in any large-scale will be hard to come by. You may want to contact a company who restores the Huey and see what they can do.

3D project for school?

Don't bother with Bell Textron, they won't answer to a private school project.

The easiest way is to contact the Flight Sim community. They have experts who knows a thing or two about creating 3D aircrafts.

For helos, go to http://www.hovercontrol.com/ and ask the Forum. I am pretty sure you'll find the answer by them ;)

Sorry bud but don't expect an answer from AMCOM. They don't give out even old technology nowadays.

I reckon this might help a bit:

And here's some photos of the chopper: http://www.kiwiaircraftimages.com/iroquois.html

They're kiwi hueys...but they're Ex-US so they're just the same only different markings and paint schemes.

If he wants to make a slick then he wont have a lot of problems. If he wants to make a gunship however thats a different story. There are so many optional pieces of equipment that were used on Huey Gunships it would take an hour just to look it all up.

Not most, all US Army helicopters are named after Native American/American Indian tribes. Its a goodway to learn a bunch of names ;)
