Anyone know where to buy one of those green turtle-necks with the acupat sleeves? Are there any good knockoffs without the logo?

you can buy the real one at Camp Zama, just make a friend and have it sent up to Sapporo.
I'm sure there must be someone here stationed at Zama.

Massif is the Contractor for the Armys Combat Shirt, and the next batch will ditch the Logo of Gayness. they're nomex though, so it runs about 100$ for GU issue.

Ouch that's big bucks. Maybe I'll wait till some used stuff ends up in the store here. Really just wanted it for an undershirt anyway for boarding. Was looking for an ACU Goretex jacket but a buddy gave a plain black one for free so...not this season.

Budgie,
Try www.ebaybanned.com (http://www.ebaybanned.com) and check out the uniform shirt and pants section A.C.U.
Hope this helps.

Those Massif ones without the logo look the best. I'll wait around till a surplus one shows up...

Get a British Army one instead, google 'UBACS', no logo.
They are only for the lads going on tour though so don't know what the odds of finding one is, there again 'Survival aids' have had an ad in Soldier mag for ages exhorting us to buy a 40 quid temperate one for some reason, despite the fact theres no temperate Osprey :S Odd odd people, as if!

don't bother, they tear way too easy. The USMC one looks way better. the short is awesome but falls apart too easily,,,165 is too much for it

They suck, mine ripped on the first patrol, I just took a normal tan t-shirt and had acu sleeves from an old top sewn on it, it turned out better than that $150 nomex one. And mine didnt have that gay logo

who cares about the army strong logo, only time i wear mine is when i'm wearing body armor anyway, and then you can't see it-it's not a freaking fashion show ladies. it's cooler temperature wise than the reg acu top and tshirt and the elbow pads are built in which is a plus when i'm leaning against the radio falling asleep in the humvee. only grief i have with it is when i put my pens in the pen sleeve things they punches right through to the otherside so i guess it does rip easily and also the zippers on the shoulders are hard as hell to open, it's a bitch getting my smokes out of those things, velcro is so much easier.

If you sign up they give you one for free. Really. Is that a deal, or what?

why do soldiers wear turtlenecks, because they are afraid of being shelled!

Giggle giggle, I saw that coming. Non-US national, 35 years old, deaf in right ear. What do you think my chances of signing up are? Can't a civilian be a gear whore too?
Speaking of which:

Is it just me or are there two distinct shades of acupat here? One greener and the other redder...

Some are wearing regular ACU's, some are wearing flame-retardant(pinkish). Also, if you get some of the early model combat shirts (solid body instead of mesh) they are much stronger and less ****e to destruction.
