Outlawed The Church of Scientology
On the grounds that is isn't a true and proper religion ,
Would we see the followers take up arms and defend there Ground ..ie Tom cruise , John travolta , Kirsty Alley

Of course,
but you'd have to give evidence as to why other religions should be considered "true" and "proper" whereas Scientology is not.

I laugh when people bring up how ridiculous sicentology is. Yes scientology is so much more out there than the dude who can walk on water, a great big uptopia in the sky, and a dude in a firery evil lair down below. Don't mean to offend, point is it's all subjective. This thread is retarded.

Why is it not a "true religion" ?
I see difference to the early days of Christianity then what I do Scientology.
Both are/were considered cults by the majority of society and governments.
Both are persecuted to the norms of the time.
And ect ect.

as in Germany many consider them as an economic enterprise - even the US did so for 20 years before they granted them tax exemption status in the early nineties

have you read about the similar type of **** Christians went through in their early years?
Same type of **** as all of today's minority religions.

they just could stop charging people all their money for some scientific voodoo.. this might help their reputation a lot.. but if it was up to me any kind of religion would be forbidden anyway... :)

well.. religion has always been either the cause or at least an excuse for wars and repression... and even if there was only one "world-religion" then there would still be conflicts between liberals and hardliners... so basically religion is the source of all evil... actually not all of it.. but a big portion ^^

Then they have to outlaw every other religion too. Besides they can't because of the the Bill of Rights.
First Amendment. If they can brush this aside I think America is doomed.

Religion has been a good excuse for a lot of war and evil. Without religion I'm pretty sure mankind will find another reason. Mankind is the root of all evil.

Man will harm each other with or without religion. It's human nature.

I was actually being very sarcastic on that one. Hence, the "waiting for the proof of that one" part. Dont worry about it.

Yea, coming from a man's rib makes so much sense. The earth being flat also makes sense.
Slaughtering 14,000 Protestants because they dont believe the same branch of Christianity as you also makes sense.

What is it with Yuro-pee-ins and their obsession with Scientology? This is Amurica, jack. We are free to be as stupid as we damn well please. And if someone wants to cleanse themselves of Thetans or tithe themselves to a bunch of crooks and new age phonies, then that's their right. And we'll kill you all to prove it, fags.

Nonsense to the extreme. Religion is not the cause of evil, wars or repression. Anger, Fear, Hatred, Intolerance of the beliefs of others, and greed are the cause of all conflicts. Some people identified themselves by a religion because it identified their culture to some extent, however their culture often differed greatly from the religion. Even without religion, world history would be much the same, or perhaps even worse.

Religion is what people make it. Moderate religious view of religion can be use as a simple guide of moral values. Which in my opinion is the purpose. Scientology on the other hand is Hollywood base bullshi7 to misled people to buying more of Hollywood.

I agree that religion is the source of most evil in this world, and that most wars are started because of it.
Religion has always been simply a weapon; to controll the way people think, and to justify atrocities on others simply because "They dont believe the Truth, like we do".
Disagree with me? Read a history book or twelve. Hell, better yet read the bible. It's practically a guidebook for genocide, slavery, vindictive hatred, bigotry, paranoia and any other lovey stuff you could think of.
I vehemently dissagree with anyone who trys to imply that religion imparts a superior moral outlook on the part of it's believers. I, and many people I know were raised athiest, and in most cases are just as good members of society as anyone raised on religious "morals".
/ontopic: As much as I think religion is harmful, I do agree in the First Amendment right to freedom of religion, and freedom from religion. Keep it in the closet and don't try to shove it down my throat and you'll do just fine. Start preaching about how "wrong" I am, and threatening my kids with hellfire and eternal torment and you won't survive that long around me.

In the end religious and nonreligious people are both capable of starting violence. Which is why I can care less about Prob.8 either side. Gay liberals or Religious conservative. Don't matter. We are at war and the economy hitting the tank. Some people are too busy thinking about themselves. Shoving religion down peoples throats and the other one bi7ching about not having their minority not mention on a piece of paper.
