View Full Version : Thoughts on Bushnell HOLO Sights?

I've read in the past they were made by Eotech for Bushnell and are considered the "light" or "express" models for the market. That said, I do understand that they're not built for the extreme like the Eotech 510 or 550 series are. I know a lot of EOtech owners are going to tell me to 'get an eotech instead', but I just wanted some feedbacks from end users of the Bushnell as well. The reason I'm looking at them is because they cost less, and I'm using it for plinking and maybe for occasional matches. I don't see myself abusing the optic, which is why I'm considering the Bushnell. My question is, is there major problems with the Bushnell Holo sights?
Thanks in advance.

To the extent of my knowledge its actually the other way around. I am not absolutely certain though, so take it for what its worth. At least the early models were the exact counterparts of the corresponding Eotechs sans the protective cover, and thus exhibited precisely the same problems: Occasional loss of zero, and short battery life in cold weather. Both issues have been AFAIK adressed in the current models.
Bottom line: For your intended purposes, the Bushnell does the job. For the 150 bucks you save you can buy a lot of surplus .223 and a trip to the range.

I've got one on my AR carbine. I haven't used it a lot, but I have no complaints so far.

Alright, thanks for the info.
With the economy so bad right now, I'm trying to cut down on costs. If I had to use this carbine in seriously harsh environments that require constant bashing of the gun, I'd take the 550 series or the newer AP M4, lol.

Alright, thanks for the info too buddy.
Edit: Alright, I went ahead and ordered one. Need the extra money to start saving for a new handgun and ammo.
