What do you folks think is the real reason some threads seem to go on forever? Also, which thread is the longest? p-)

I'd have to say both, although some of the longer ones are due to the former, unfortunately. But looking at some of the more recent threads, I have hope. There's actually some intelligent discussion going on. woot

I'll agree that there is definitely some good discussion going on, however, some of the really long ones are just silly. I suppose there is no way to keep some folks from spouting off at every opportunity. I do encourage anyone mature and reasonable to resist the temptation to be baited into inane arguements. :) Something else to consider is, how often someone asks a question and then drops out of sight when someone hijacks the thread and takes it in some altogether other direction. Is this really being helpful to someone who is seeking honest info? Just a thought. ;)

I'd say A,then it degenerates into B,then it becomes a bunch of smartasses just posting for the hell of it. ;)

basicly if i was the moderator(AKA GOD) i would delete any BS messages and htere would be no BS-- just clean conversation with no negative vibes--- if you goto some strict "hard core" politically correct forum you'll know waht im taliing about

The longest thread I've seen is one I started. It was "What's your favorite weapon?" I think it ended up being twelve pages or something close to that.

And that, if I recall correctly, was one of the reasonable ones. Good job! ;) G
