In your guys opinion what country has the best winter camouflage uniforms?
Personally i like the German Wehrmacht over coats and the USMC digital.

Snow is never really all plain white though, so unless you're standing in an open field there's gonna be a need for some splotches. I like the Finnish M05 and USMC MARPAT snow camo.

Just do like the GI's did in WWII. Procure a few bedsheets from the nearest fraulein and wrap it around yourself and your helmet. Add mud splotches as necessary. Instant winter camo!

Oh plain white is enough alright - nobody in a snowy wood or battleground has ever stood out in plain white. Just look at all those WWII pics or try to spot the guy in a white jacket next time you go skiing. But a few blotches of grey, dark green or off-white probably help a little bit to break up the shape of the soldier, and besides it provides easier unit recognition for cooperating armies such as NATO forces.

Disruptive Overwhite Garment (USMC snow camo)
USMC began to issue the uniform in November 2007.
The Disruptive Overwhite Garment weighs no more than 0.65 lbs each and can be self stowed in a 6in. x 9in. pocket. With high tear strength in each direction, the cloth has a water repellent treatment durable to 50 laundering cycles, low air permeability, good drapeability, soft hand for low noise signature when moving, and is opaque to prevent woodland MARPAT undergarment strike through that diminishes the snow camouflage cover. That snow marpat is amazing.
Will now have to scour the net for any 'second hand sets' cough cough.

x4 on the Finnish one.
Some may think it's too high contrast, but it's meant for a for the typical Finnish terrain, a snowy forest.
Try to count the soldiers in this pic and you'll maybe get the point: http://tietokannat.mil.fi/rovajarvi208/include/thumbnail.php?id=43&width=640

If he wants to stay out of sight, it might be smart to lose the woodland camo headgear...:bash:

That's a reversed woodland camo head cover from the old M91 uniform, there's a hood on the suit though so if he was in real combat/training he could put the hood up. When you're taking a break from an exercise there's no real need to be 1337 tacticool. And the real problem in that pic IMO would be the two guys with no helmets.

You mean the Finnish M/05 snow camo suit? I don't think there's genuine ones for sale since the FDF decided not to sell M/05 to civilians.
The only option is probably to convince some conscript to "lose" his snow suit, but that might be difficult for you :)

IIRC he tried to sell the M05 cold weather jacket, meaning this:

A Polish person just sold a complete M05 uniform on Ebay around last week for 149 USD I believe.

Yeah I've seen those, not official FDF issue, just a copy of the pattern. And WAY to overpriced for what they are.

As far as I know textile was original... at least from original producer.
More interesting is that people are hunting for unique peaces of it with printing errors :)

It´s pretty problematic, you can get mostly old german cotton ones which looks great but sucks(that´s why they replaced them) and also you can get russian ones on splav.ru, bu they got no pockets which sucks either... italians, todays germans, swiss, swedish, finnish etc. got cool stuff, but very problematic to get for example used goods for cheap price

In Splav snow suits and ghillie suits you have a through openings instead of pockets, so you can gain access to your webbing or vest under the suit. This openings are wide and located on the right and left sides of chest.
