The clerk of Tel Nof's base commander have put the base under alert when she activated a tear gas grenade inside the office. She explained, "I just wanted to smell the perfume".

The soldiers of IAF's base Tel Nof were frighthend yesterday that a group of terrorists have entered the base when they've heard a blast sound that came from the commander's office. The soldiers that entered the office found out that a clerk in the office of Beni Tzuker (Tel nof's base commander) caused the blast when she accidently activated a tear gas grenade - because she thought that it was a perfume.

After the gas dissipate there was a first investigation, where the investigators found out that the clerk saw the grenade and thought that it's a perfume and decided to "open" it so she could smell it and maybe even to try some of it on her hand. After she manage to pull out the safety-catch the gas escaped from the grenade and luckily no one was injured.

IDF spokesman said, "The soldier touched a tear gas grenade and activated it. The way that the grenade was stored is now being checked."

It's important to add that there's a perfume in stores that looks like a grenade, but it looks like a fragmentation grenade and not like a tear gas grenade, that looks like a cann with three holes at the top.

What do you expect from an IDF 'jobnik'? They are effectively citizens in uniform and not proficient soldiers.

I guarantee that most women wouldn't have done that either.... the fact that she's an idiot does nothing to validate the contention that women shouldn't join the military. That's just a moronic generalization.

Shouldn't doesn't mean can't :) ... Its quite understandable that most of the men can imagine 1000 beter places for woman than army :) , and as we live in free societies noone can forbid us tryin persuade woman to chose options that are better in our opinion.

Well that's obvious. I'm saying that to say that women shouldn't join the military is an incredibly sexist statement. If a woman wants to join the military she should do just that.

Yet you do.... what's up with that? Believe me, I'm a very traditional woman, but don't tell me that I shouldn't do a job simply because I am a woman. That is sexist whether you want to admit or not.

they wouldn't. Unlkess they're making tear gas grenades look like perfume bottles, some kind of James Bond gadget that Mossad had cooked up?

:cantbeli: What the--

Surely both pin, and spoon, would have to be released for the grenade's fuse to start... or are we speaking of a canister instead of an actual grenade?

what does riding a tractor have to do with anything? Don't make such broad generalizations unless you are prepared to back them up.

By the way... I don't really like to ride tractors. I can drive a tractor, and I grew up on a farm, but I do not farm now, so I have no need to drive a tractor. I could if I wanted to... that's the point.

My points ussualy are backed don't worry. What have tractors to broad generalisations? In fifities women in Poland and probably in all demoludes(people's democration<=>communist countries) where encouraged to ride tractors and they did. After some time many of them became inferlite or even got womb cancer because of strong/damaging vibrations produced by fiftie era tractors. So yes women can ride tractors if they won't but they shouldn't if they care about their health...

Same thing is about military.
First: Men can do evrything army needs.
Second: There is one thing Men can't do but Women can.
Third: Women in breeding age are deficite luxury good and army strongly afects that part of womans activities. In countrys where every women counts, like Poland we have negative birth-rate mainly because of "flawed" life style and civilisational deseases. In few decades there will be 5milion less of us and rest of the society will be bunch of old pensioners with nobody to pay & care about. We shouldn't encourage such wasting of preciuos human resources like young women. If woman's realy realy realy wants she should be allowed, but she should know that society needs her in other role much more to not mention that making new members of country is their much more important patriotic obligation than dying for country...

Question "Will you die for your country.." should be rephrased to match current trheats more : "Will you birth for your country"

Just some thoughts, I hope not to sexist :)

You would be surprised on how many men that is getting killied in military forces just because they just wanted to check out something. Accidently set of mines, cannons, rockets, ligthen up fuel, getting under the tracks of tank, falling out of cliffs and God knows what that triggered their curiousity.

The worst case I have witnessed was this stupid idiot that lost a live grenade on to a live AT-mine with a fuze in it, just because he wanted to "have a check". And belive me or not; When I said to him that he shouldnt fumble with things he hadn't been trained on his last word before dropping the grenade was: "Shut up, I know what I'm doing!" rofl
