Its a Peacekeeper, used by American police depts also.

In the early 1980s, the United States Air Force acquired 571 of these vehicles from

Cadillac-Gage Corporation of Warren, Michigan for $30,532 each. These vehicles were

eventually deployed world-wide for use by Air Force Security Police in support of their

mission of protecting nuclear weapons in storage, during convoy, and while loaded in

weapon systems.

Presently only two Peacekeepers remain in active service with the United States

Air Force (USAF.) The balance of the fleet was either destroyed or transferred to

use by civilian police forces. Defense Department regulations strictly restricted

resale of such vehicles to only specifically authorized governmental entities.

Thanks I was wondering, I'd seen them in photos before. And actually got to see this one in person. They're pretty small for an apc.

My bet is that the B52 and the PeaceKeeper are a display somewhere.

The vehicles tires are flat and its only the solid rubber inserts that are keeping
them up.

Why else would there be a missile sitting on its mounting rack, in a grass field?

The aircraft is a boeing B-52G Stratofortress, the missile is Hound Dog, and they are all on display at the 8th Air Force Museum at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana. The tower in the back is the guard tower on the old Alert Pad, I bet not to many people out there know what the "Alert Pad" is.
