What's the deal with the "X" across the windshield of the truck?

I find it interesting that all of them are wearing PASGT armor except for the bearded guy (can't tell what the guy on the truck is wearing). Any idea as to why?

check out the weak armor--- AK47 7.62 can pierce through that like butter-- unless they got their plates in-- definitely not as good as the new SF-issue SPEAR BALCS

Correct if i'm wrong, but I think it's to prevent the glass from shattering. As an armybrat, when we moved, we used to do that to all of our mirrors and glass with tape to keep the glass together just in case it cracked.

Don't Chevy Trucks use 'safety glass' that does the same thing more effectively? Crossed Tape is usually seen on windows of buildings that do not use safety glass - to mitigate shattering....

Also, the short guy In the middle still has his AK mag vest on while carrying an M4. Is that a Seargent insignia on his cap? You can almost make out what the other guys ballcap says.....

On the link you posted, the first photo, front row 4th from right, looks like one of the men from the series 'Profiles from the Frontline'. I think it was the last episode that aired. I can't remember his name though.
