Thanks, and specially to US forces who understood very well that they were just following orders.
My father was in the CPA, into de CMTT(they are working to create the new military academys), and his boss an american general had great words to all Spanish officers, who were under his command.

For facial hear there is any law in Spain. But for legionneers is common that they wear long bears.
For the death, you just jave to lokk to legionnners creed :D My dad is not a Legionner, and he didn't have bear. ;)
For G-36 it's in use in rapid reacion units, ceuta and melilla and canary ilands, CETME uis still in use in reserve units and in baleares units.

In regards to beards and legionnaries, those guys are only slightly nuts, and they certainly aren't afraid to die, it is a part of the legion creed, trust me on that, I ain't joking, i have a cousin in the legion and he is a card short of a full deck. One thing though, the Legion will open a can of woopass of their enemies anytime, anywhere (perhaps we should send a squad of them as the national football team, since at the very least they will bring cojones).

the newly elected PM said he would pull his troops back so he did, you can't let a terrorist change your foreign policy.

It's unfortunate that the new guy won but it's not like nobody knew what that would mean months before that, the spanish still voted for him so I assume that the majority wanted the troops out.

Being sincere, I felt deceived and frustrated beacause troops were pulled off suddenly in april, when the electoral promish, if I´m right, it was to do it June. I think every body got angry here: former government as usual, Usa government and new elected government. Perhaps there were many factors together: the shii sublevation came just in the middle of the government change, added that this sublevation was triggered by some wrong american decissions in the field(operating in spanish zone without warning spanish, the stupidness that lead to detain by americans a follower of Al Sadr, the shiies being said that the cleric was being held by spanish and the perception that it could be a blackmail towards spanish troops although it wasn´t...), just after the bombs and the elections the "bestwishes" of Bush government towards new spanish government advising not to respect electoral promishes, etc. I don´t want to begin again a discussion that was and is followed in Spain ad nauseam, but we spanish know how we are ourselves: If somebody tell us to do something, we can consider to do it, or not, if somebody tell us to do something because without any doubt it´s the best thing to do and there´s no place to do other place, it´s almost sure we will do the contrary thing.
Spanish government did a big mistake pulling off troops IN APRIL, but it was legitimate to do it in June. I don´t know the reason to do it, may be there were some angry words among "allied" that public opinion will never listen. If it was the case, I agree to pull off the troops in April, if it wasn´t, I´m agaisnt it. And if new government had suddenly found a year ago that it was good to keep troops in Iraq, I´d good be happy, but stating loud and clear that it´s own decission.
To finish, we have a loooong history to know how to face this things. Our politicians have to be enough mature and learn that we can´t go to a war without the support of the most of the people. Our XIX it´s plenty of stupid interventions and wars just like this of Iraq(Republica Dominicana, Mexico, Vietnam, Guerra del Pacífico) that were done without any gaining for spanish interest even if they were won because there wasn´t any interest to defend there. The same with Marroq war in early XX, it was the beginning of the sh#t to come in 1936. Most of spanish said no to Iraq war, lets people talk, enough said.

si lastima de este presidente actual (los demas tambien se las traen), pero es que ZP hace maestrias en cagadas. Yo no critico ni al PSOE ni al PP, pero si soy muy critico con los presidentes. El presidente actual, como mencionas, debio haber esperado por lo menos a Junio antes de retirar las tropas, pero su antiamericanismo a echado por tierra la relacion bilateral, y ahora va por ahi perdiendo el culo para salir en la foto con Bush.

Guys please, don't turn this thread into a stupid political rant , and don't use spanish that much, most people here can't speak spanish, and the forum rules say clearly that the official language is english.
