Is it possible to purchase (civilian) a Remington 700 in .338 lapua magnum and place it in a AICS stock?

basically. like an M24 on an AI stock and Bender glass.

I believe it is.

I think DeltaWhisky58 looked into doing something very similar at one time.

Q. Will my Remington 700 in .300 Rem ULTRA Mag or .338 ULTRA Mag work in the AICS?
A. The action will fit but the rounds are too long for the magazine and the strengthening bar in the magazine prevents them from going into the magazine. If you have an ULTRA mag action we suggest you talk to a professional gunsmith about modifications.

****Edit**** - Try here (http://www.gunsamerica.com/903224865/Non-Guns/Gun-Parts/Stocks/Polymer/Accuracy_International_Chassis_System_Fixed_Long_Action_Black.htm) They have them for $900

Q. Are the AICS magazines interchangeable with the AI rifles?
A. The AICS .308 short action magazines are NOT interchangeable with the AI AW or AE rifles. The long action .300win mag and .338 Lapua mag AICS magazines ARE Interchangeable with the AI AW rifles

They are available in .338 LM

Yes you can do this. I just picked up a 338LM based on a 338Ultra mag action wich was reworked to 338 laupa my local remmy smith. Its actually pretty cheap to make a good shooting 338 laupa. Do what I did, Check out hunting forums in the for sale section, Alot of hunters don't realize how powerful the 338 ultra mag is and quickly tire of it. You can pick one up for cheap. I paid 600 even. New barrel and reformed bolt was another 500. BTW the 338UM included a VX3 4-14. Sold it and it paid for most of the custom work. Now I just need to get new glass for it. Any suggestions folks? I'll be shooting at evil looking paper and mean tempered steel. I have a place we shoot at on BLM land well out to 3000 yrds. "Not saying i can make hits at that range but its set up for those long shots". All my LR scopes are MK4's ATM but I was looking at nightforce. Max budget is $1500-$2000. Thanks and merry Christmas.

Remington Military deals directly with procurement agencies and organizations for military units but is examining how to best approach this for individual purchases.

You have to special order the rifle from a Remington dealer.
