I was watching cnn yesterday morning after I got home from work. There was this video they played where the attackers filmed the footage in night vision, and it showed certain fighters in the group actually giving orders through a hand-held radio. I never expected that they had became that sophisticated, but I also was half asleep when I watched it so I might be wrong, but they said it was al-qaeda attacking a govornment building in Afghanistan.

Does anyone know more about this video and or where to get it?

BTW I almost forgot, it also showed dead combatants to prove it's authenticity.

Hand Held radios can be as cheap as 15$ for a set of two...so why was it hard to beleive?

:cantbeli: It's not the radio that is somewhat surprising, it's the degree of command and control that they had.

Communication is one of the most essential elements in combat.

One?

im sure they weren't 15$ radios. If they can afford sat phones, and jamming devices they can spend more on comm gear.

They've been fighting for over 25 years, im sure they developed their c&c. Also some of those come from a military background from their home country. In some arab countries army service is mandetory.

I jsut hope that it's not true although night vision devices and handheld radios are readily available, im sure even in Afghanistan. Im sure that the training they get at there terrorist camps include command and control training.....

As much I hope that this isin't true but it unfortunately seems possibble in my opinion.

They could have joint strike fighters and Strykers and theyd still ge their asses beat.

THrough their brutal tactics they have alienated themselves from civilization, and through their devestating attack on our country 2 years ago, well, they have awoken a sleeping giant...

I don't think the United States is going to start losing tons of troops to the Al Qaeda but this is pretty serious. Night vision goggles are the biggest advantage that the US infantry has over Al Qaeda terrorists. If Al Qaeda terrorists can give some of their memebers that advantage than the United States won't have as much of an advantage.

"Never underestimate your enemy"

That is true.

BUT.

Training and technology will always help the US armed Forces defeat its enemies.

AQ are cruel and sadistic but the US is the best there is.

No comparison. :fork:

biggest advantage? rofl So the army's numbers, weapons, intel, training...etc is all meaningless in the face of night vision goggles? rofl
