Well, it has a stock number, so it must have been issued at one time or another...

Thanks for the comments , many repo's have fake stock numbers, Im hoping a Marine here on the board will recognize this jacket as from what i have found on the web the USMC was using a OD version that looks the same as this one in cut and padding , I want to know if these camo versions were issued , thanks again.

the labels doesn't really look like military issue. there also states "woodland pattern" but i'd say it's "RDF ERDL".
interesting jacket anyway

It looks exactly like the USMC Primary Marksmanship Instructor's jacket, but they are all OD green not woodland camo. So I would say its not issue.

Thank You !
USMC68 is correct. They were never issued in Woodland, only OD.

It's a repro , i think it could have been made in China , judging by the odd Woodland Pattern.
Here's what my r real one in OD looks like

Damn you guys are good!
I was going to say it looks like the jackets we were issued for qualifying on the range. I think only in boot camp? Did we get one everytime we went to the range?
Again just the OD. I don't remember any in camo.

I qualified for the first time in December 1993, and we were, as I remember, the first company to no longer use the OD shooting jackets. The cycle before us was the last one.

are there any current issue shooting jackets?

I don't know what's current - I got out 11 years ago. The only people I ever saw wearing those jackets were the PMIs at Edson Range when I was in boot camp. We just wore regular utilities with a web belt that had a magazine pouch and a canteen or something.

Yep! I did a Google image search and found many older photos of Marine rifle ranges with all the shooters wearing issued jackets.
However, none of the very few newer images I came across showed Marines wearing the jackets on the range. It makes sense, you don't wear them in combat.
To answer the question posed by derxammler, I'm not well informed. There is a picture dated in January of 2007 on the USMC website of a PMI still wearing the OD jackets which seem to answer your question that YES there is still an issued jacket for instructors. Oh, and the shooter the PMI is instructing in the picture is NOT wearing one.

The PMI's are the only ones to wear the jacket. The recruits just wear regular marpat with a sweatshirt underneath.

i never saw one in woodland, only O.D., but it could be a recent run?
although i didn't think that they were still made
i used to see them in alot of surplus shops but they are both scarce nowadays(the jackets and surplus shops)
