View Full Version : Elzbieta "Zo" Zawadzka has died today.
Polish WW2 hero, the only one female member of special commando unit cichociemni (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cichociemni) Elzbieta Zawadzka has died today. She was awarded by polish highest possible medals including Order of the White Eagle, Virtutti Militari (2 times), Cross of the Braves (5 times) and many more.
During the WW2 she crossed german borders over 100 times carrying documents, orders and inteligence reports.

Its a shame we hear about these kinds of people only when they pass away, I hope she enjoyed a full filling life after serving so bravely.
