The only non-microbrewery Canadian beer I can think of that is close to 8.5% is the 7.1% Labatt Max Ice
But on average, Canadian beer is at least 5%

BTW: Some French Canadian Beers are at 8.5% and up, and we have some local micros that are up there also...sometimes they are 'one off' runs. But yes most are in the 5.0 range.

Ah yes, the "Cold Shots", those are 6%. Only good for shotgunning though (the can even has a little target in which to make the hole!).
