I got kind of a similar story about moms. A buddy of mine was in the USMC reserve during GW1. After a few months in the desert waiting for the war to begin, he wrote his mom complaining about how little food they were getting due to some supply SNAFU. Shoked that her little boy was starving in the desert, she wrote a long bithchy letter to her Georgia congressman. Low and behold what shows up a week or so later in the middle of the desert? A huge pallet of about a thousand cans of Spam, with love from Georgia! To this day hes still known as Sgt. Spam.

I was in cyprus for GW1 and my Grandma bless her sent me a hand knitted scarf and Bobble hat :oops:
Unfortunatly I openedthe parcel in the presence of others so of course I had to put it on. Too much hilarity :oops: Our platoon commander decided I was the spitting image of Private pike (see dads army) My big mouth does that make you Captain mainering then Sir? :P Very funny show parade 6 O'clock showing Hat and scarf worn. Provo SGT thought it was so funny had to come back at 10pm. then the CQMS got involved Had to wear HAT and scarf for the next week :lol:
