I have a friend I call ****** all the time. He calls me honkey, cracker, etc. but neither one of us is racist. Same sort thing with a Mexican guy I know. I've been threatened before in public for saying it to him and he has to talk people down because they don't want to understand it's just joking among friends. Then they get mad at him for some reason. People are screwy.

That's part of the job in so many royal families that sheer idiocy cannot suffice. And well, sometimes, they mature all right after all.

That this latest incident hasn't anything to do with racism seems obvious.

That Harry is or is not racist has little to do with this incident and is open to debate - though I'd personally think that anyone living in the rather secluded conditions a Royal Family lives starts with a handicap when it comes to social, religious or ethnic diversity.

That his social behaviour is not always exactly on par with what could be expected of the heir of one of the oldest European thrones, is also established IMHO.

In Russia "caucasian" is a person from Caucasus (georgian, armenian, chechen, azerbajan and a lot of other nationalities), and in european Russia their status is the same as "N" among the USA. I remember the anecdotical story when an armenian guy emigrated to America and he opened his restaraunt called "caucasian aunt". Soon the local african community blamed him that he is a white racist :D

Actually saying "white" is not forbidden at all. On survey forms it will list ethnicities, and "White" is one of the options. But other people get proper names like Asian, Pacific Islander, African-American, etc. Go figure.:roll:

I dislike Caucasian because it makes me think of the Caucasus region, which is barely considered Europe. My Swedish and Scottish heritage has nothing to do with that region, yet I'm Caucasian. But I dislike White because it's such a blunt label. Actually, I think that color/ethnicity should be out of the question completely on forms.
