Going by this pic the Tail image is similar to the diamond backs , What this the Original name before being named Diamond backs ? .

"Satan's Kittens". Now thats a cool name for a Tomcat squadron. :)
A pity this squadron flew F-14s for only two years (1986-88) before being disestablished due to budget cuts. :(

In the early 90s, thanks to some politically correct morons, the "Pukin' Dogs" had to change their name for "Dogs". :roll: Fortunately, after a few years of PC bullsh*t, they regained their original name. :)
Too bad they fly SubPar Hornets nowadays though..

Yeah...mixed up priorities. They should be training to drop nuclear weapons on people who are enemies of the United States.

Huh? Apparently you are unaware that the nuclear strke mission was taken away from NAVAIR in the late 80s.
US Navy and Marine carrier assets constantly train for strike missions.

Its a VF-103 bird actually. They adopted the Jolly Rogers name and insignia when VF-84 was distablished in the mid-90s due to post Cold War cutbacks.
