personal opinion but...i find it moronic to be pointing guns at your own soldiers...there is no need for that...close combat fighting with a knife is different but pointing guns?

then again the russian military has always had unorthodox training...as for the actual photos, they are awesome!

The sight is a Kobra EKP-1S-03M collimator sight. Does it really look like an EOTech to you? ;)

So I guess footage of GSG9 operatives standing in rows shooting past each other at targets are moronic too. There are always going to be cases where a special forces operative will muzzle sweep a fellow operative.

Besides during some exercises your own soldiers can represent enemy soldiers.

Those are the most comfortable helmets I've ever wore in my life.

Seriously, they might look funny to some, but once you put it on, thats a whole another storry.

Speak those who tried them. Am I right?

I am not sure what you mean, but these are real soldiers. Well, actually soldiers of MVD. They are not Ministry of Defense soldiers, if that is what you meant.

Heh. We are working on a book right now about Speznas of Internal Forces/OMSN. Some of the pics that Permskii posts are test shots for this book. We are still working out the details, but we will keep you guys posted.

But how long is Spetsnaz Training?

I guess untill they think you are ready and know enough. I'm not sure if there is a standart time for training. Every branch, unit will have their own.

Awesome pics PermskiiOMON! Wow, best shots of Spetsnaz I have seen yet :)

Just wondering, what kind of uniform type and camo is the soldier above wearing? I was looking for the camo type on:

http://www.rusmilitary.com/html/c-wear_colours.htm

and

http://www.russiancombatgear.com/

but I could not find a matching BDU-type and camo-type. If you have more information I would be very grateful!

Thanks,

-c

regarding the question on Spetsnaz training those chosen for special units are conscripts that serve 2 years.

They are normally chosen for recognisable abilities and skills and will generally have been "good communists" and have taken part on DOSAAF training. In other words they will probably already have parachuting experience and know how to strip a weapon as they learned these skills in the Soviet equivelent of the Boy Scouts... a Boy Scouts run by retired military personel that teach kids both discipline and how to strip and clean small arms, how to tie knots, parachute jump etc etc.

it's true about the Gracies

The result was G.R.A.P.L.E. (Gracie Resisting Attack Procedures for Law Enforcement). Since its inception, the program has been taught to members of the FBI, Secret Service, Navy Seals, Army Rangers, Special Forces, and many other federal, state and local law enforcement professionals, as well as some elite international organizations such as the Israel Security Agency and the British Police Special Operations Group. In fact, the US Army is rewriting their combatives manual to include the G.R.A.P.L.E. techniques they learned from Rorion Gracie.

I wouldn't want cross one of them Spetsnaz boys..They look like some cold, calculating hard bastards.

Btw You guys see the last Pride show?

http://s90146897.onlinehome.us/og/fedor_randleman.gif

Russian dude gets slamed on his ****ing head, reverses position on the ground, and within 20 seconds after almost being killed by that slam...slaps on a Kimura from the side to win the match. Amazing.

post fight interview.
