View Full Version : * Photo Hosting Available on Militaryphotos.net *
Users can now have accounts and put up and maintain their own photo albums here on Militaryphotos.net. To register for an album account, you'll need a working email address. Click below.
Register a photo album account: http://media.militaryphotos.net/photos/register.php?gallery_popup=true
Once that's completed and you've set a password, drop me a note via the following link with your user account name and I'll create an album for you and give you control over it. Anyone who already has an album in the User Submitted section and wants to add photos to it, follow the same procedure and I'll get it going.

Although I'm seeing if there's anything I can do to fix it, for some people, the applet "add photos" mode doesn't work and it gives the error "user cannot upload photos". What you need to do is not use the applet mode at this point and instead use the form mode, as illustrated in the picture below.

Nice one! :D Cheers Hood.
Am I right in thinking this is only for military photos, not for people to just dump/host images?
:)
Anything you want. It's picture hosting for members of the "club" here.. can be artwork, photos, pets, etc. If there's really nothing military related in it, I'll just file it in a separate section, but no biggie. I've got a lot of bandwidth and space to spare. The only requirement is that it be "your" stuff, and not someone else's.

I don't know if you're the one to talk to Hood, but I'll let you answer be the judge of that. Do you know what happened to the free forum on the picture side of the militaryphotos site, where anyone could just add whatever comments they wanted, I've noticed that the management I guess took that option away. Is that a permanent change or is it temporary?I'm only asking because I started talking to a cool bunch of guys but I haven't been able to touch base with them. Things were getting a bit too crazy though, a lot of people were taking advantage of that forum to say some very bad things about almost any topic imaginable. Thanks for the help.
yeah I installed new software yesterday and one of the options was to turn off the comment system. It's been a constant battle with people vandalizing the comments sections and me trying to keep up with them. Unfortunately there's no way to ban users or stop people from commenting in there, unlike on the main forums where I have a lot more control. At some point there's the decision just to have people use the forums instead and not have comments anymore. It's unfortunate because particularly in the special forces albums from 2001 and 2002, there were a lot of really great comments that I had to get rid of because there were too many trolls.

Yeah I completely understand why it had to be done, the advantages of keeping that system up were outweighed by all the dumb remarks posted by so many hateful people.

How about video's?
The albums take videos up to 5 megs, but you can PM me if you have something bigger. The only requisite is that it be original video in some manner. I get a lot of requests for hosting of videos that are just from other sites or are clips from television which I can't host because of copyright reasons.

Is there any way to view the user submitted albums so that those that have been updated or added most recently appear in descending/asending order by date?
