With the exception of PzH 2000, yes.

CENTAURO (the 105mm version) has been in service since before Somalia.

ARIETE has also been in service for years (an upgrading kit - mainly a new more powerful engine - is going to be installed soon, if the works have not begun yet). Some ARIETEs are on their way to Nassiriya

DARDO has only recently (last couple of months) begun introduction in the Units (and some of them are on their way to Nassiriya too)

PzH2000 is the Self Propelled howitzer that the Italian Army wants to buy in order to substitute its M109L. But when his will happen it's unclear. No money...

Best regards

Untill I see them in the hands of the Army, no one can be sure about it (do you rember when was the DARDO actually supposed to enter in line with the troops? It was more or less 10 years ago...)

But it is true that an agreement for 70 PzH pieces has been signed (I was probably being overpessimistic in my previous post, they are not yet in service, though ;) ). I wonder, though, how these 70 pieces ordered (all to be delivered this year) goes toghether with the enclosures of the Finantial Law for year 2004, in which the Ministery of Defense was able to input 32,8 Milion Euros (of the 414 foreseen, as stated in the same document: less than 10%) for the acqisition of the PzH2000. Per the same document, the PzH2000 "project" is due to end in 2011.

Do you happen to know how many PzH2000s the Italian army wants to buy? There's something not completely convincing in those numbers...

Best regards

Just looked it up: Bundeswehr buys 185 (out of an original 590), Italy 70, Greece 24 and the Netherlands 57. Without a doubt some more nations will follow.
