There are confirmed reports of a senior officials meeting in Copenhagen next week to discuss policing the borders of the Gaza Strip to stop weapons smuggling.

According to a report in the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, a meeting of senior officials from the United States, the European Union, Israel and possibly Egypt is to convene in Copenhagen next week to discuss how to stabilise the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

Denmark’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed a meeting is to take place, but it remains unclear as to what level of officials will take part in the meeting, or what the official agenda is.

Quoting Israeli officials, Yedioth Ahronoth says that the Copenhagen meeting is to “discuss the influx of arms smuggling from Iran to Hamas in Gaza. This following the commitment made by European nations and the US as part of the January 16th deal between then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni”.

According to the report, other topics on the agenda include the allocation and deployment of troops and naval vessels to stop smuggling.

Danish support

Earlier this month, Denmark and the Netherlands said they were ready to support a reintroduction of EU monitoring of the border between Gaza and Egypt when that becomes possible.

Just like the UN presence in Lebanon
They wont stop SH1T..

They will sit along the border while hundreds of tunnels are dug beneath their feet
and when they are aware of a tunnel, they wont want to put themselves at risk in confronting Hamas "militants" who are obtaining weapons to fire at Israeli civilians and not civilians of their country. Furthermore how can an international force make any progress in preventing tunnels when they dont even speak arabic and cant have their own arabic speaking undercover intelligence teams like Israel has?

Once again the world with no idea of the situation thinks they can poke their noses in it and do a better job then Israel who deals with it on a daily basis and has its arms tied back by the international community in being able to properly eradicate it.
