Checkmate Industries (CMI) is a contractor to the DoD for M-14 magazines. They have developed a 25-round M-14/M1A mag to USGI specs. I just ordered a dozen of them from 44mag.com, for my M1A Scout. The are not cheap at $35/each. The quality, fit and finish look excellent. Except for the fact that they are 1-1/4" longer, they are indistinguishable from a 20-round USGI mag. I will post a range report when I get a chance to shoot from them.

I bought 10 CMI 20 rnd mags from 44mag.com over a year ago and couldn't be happier... I don't think I'd drop the cash again till they come out with a 30 rnd mag though....

There are some 30rd M14 mags on the market but haven't found one yet that is reliable. I believe CMI is the only company with US government M14 magazine contracts which are the 20rd. But CMI does make a reliable 25rd magazine. 44mag has the best prices on the CMI magazines.
