Hi...

I have a question about the F470 Combat Rubber Raiding Craft (CRRC).
I read in a book that these inflatables are considered disposable. So what
happens to the boats after a team reaches the beach? Is it left behind
(camouflage) or slashed/buried in the sand or is it sink in the water?
I haven't found anything about this practice in the papers. Maybe it
doesn't occur very often. Or do you know more about it?

Thanks,
Matt

In the USMC they're not disposable. How the hell would we get back to our ship if we sank our own boats? :cantbeli:

I was trained to move the boat above the high water line and camouflage it as much as possible. IIRC, some Marines would remain behind to pull security. We trained to use them for amphibious raids, WWII style.

I think the proper response is "It depends."

I don’t know of any unit that treats the F470 as disposable, I think the person that originally wrote that comment has no idea what they are talking about, generally they are camouflaged depending on the topography, if you modify them they can be submerged, and recovered later.

But as hammer said "It depends."

Would make up for a hell of a motivation, wouldn´t it? p-)
