http://www.kenozoicum.nl/website%20mega%20predators/plaatjes/megalodon.jpg
Up to 16m in length, Megalodon was the largest shark ever. It lived only a few million years ago, the time that the earliest humans envolved. Megalodon is a close relative to the present days great white shark, only much bigger. Like the great white, it was probably warm-blooded and preyed on marine mammals. Its favourite food was whale, It attacked its prey near the surface, when it came up for air.
Like with most sharks, only the teeth of Megalodon are being found, because the cartilaginous skeleton of sharks does'nt get fossilized. Megalodons teeth where 21cm long, it really was the top predator of its time. BFF - Big F**n' Fish? ;)

Iraq and Iran have disputed navigation rights on the Shatt al Arab since 1935, when an international commission gave Iraq total control of the Shatt al Arab, leaving Iran with control only of the approaches to Abadan and Khorramshahr, its chief ports, and unable to develop new port facilities in the delta. To preclude Iraqi political pressure and interference with its oil and freight shipments on the Shatt al Arab, Iran built ports on the Persian Gulf to handle foreign trade. Iran and Iraq negotiated territorial agreements over the Shatt al Arab waterway in 1975, but by the end of the decade skirmishes in the area became prevalent. Full-scale war between the two countries broke out in Sept., 1980, leading to eight years of attacks on coastal areas (see Iran-Iraq War). The Shatt al Arab remains a source of conflict, as limited water access and unresolved maritime boundaries in the region persist.

Well if they don't know whether or not they went into Iranian territorial waters, then then they also don't know if they didn't, so it doesn't change my argument. No need to send in the 'tough guys', until their rights are violated. Being captured without reasonable grounds (so if they didn't penetrate Iranian waters) is a violation of their rights.

Maybe to secure their identity because of their personal rights - like the US does it with putting bags over the heads of prisoners?
Heh, maybe that idea would be valid if they didn't parade them on national TV - even with "interviews" where they are stating their names and ranks and other information.

why is everyone making a big deal out of the iran/britian issue. The british said they will be solving the issue diplomaticaly. Iran claimed that british boats entered iranian terrotrial water more than once, but they decided to capture this time to prevent it from happening again and to send a clear statement that Iran is capable of defending itself.
As for whoever asked why they are blindfolded, why don't you ask the US soldeirs why they put canvas bags over iraqis?

REGIMENTAL PRAYER
Almighty, merciful, and loving Father,
you are the one who hears all our prayers and grants our petitions.
We ask you to remember, as we do,
the tremendous sacrifice made by those who went before us.
They have given their lives so that we might live and breathe freely.
We ask you to receive them into your hands.
Father, give us the strength and wisdom to learn from their example,
to uphold freedom and life at home and around the world.
Keep us vigilant as we guard the frontiers of freedom.
Give our leaders the wisdom and the strength to lead well.
Grant all of us courage and confidence.
Be, for all of us, troopers, a wise counsel in keeping peace
and a strong shield for us against our enemies.
Oh heavenly Father, give us the determination
that the peace and freedom won at such a high price be lasting!
Father, hold all of the troopers in the palm of your almighty hand
and protect them in the shadow of your wings.
Amen.

I can only imagine what the soldier is thinking... ;) p-)
The soldiers are from the Kansas National Guard's 2nd Battalion, 130th Field Artillery, part of the 130th Field Artillery Brigade. The battalion runs the Joint Visitors Bureau in Baghdad, so VIP escort like this is their main job. I certainly hope the soldier is thinking "I signed up for this ****? I wanna go blow things up."

Workers move a jaw reconstruction of a Charcharodon megalodon in New York on June 21, 2004 in preparation for an auction of dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures. Guernsey's will offer over 200 lots of prehistoric bones and artifacts on June 24. The Charchradon megalodon, thought to be the largest shark ever, existed 10-25 million years ago. The jaw shown here contains 182 fossil teeth, four of which are among the largest ever discovered. p-)
Megatooth Shark
http://www.kenozoicum.nl/website%20mega%20predators/plaatjes/megalodon.jpg
BFF - Big F**n' Fish? ;)
Now THAT would seriously ruin your day!

After they get those royla marinres back a few Iranian patrol boats should mysteriously get blown to pieces. That might get the point across about the cost of messing with coalition forces.

Idiot. You know US forces continuously messed with Soviet forces during Cold War. And vice versa. May be better was to start nuclear war to get point about cost of messing?
UK sailors crossed the line and were detained. There is nothing against laws. Like you this fact or not.

Diplomacy will sort this one out. There are hard line elements in Iran that want to make a big issue of this - they'll do a bit of window dressing and all that stufff and then the moderates will see to it that the lads get released. I think we can let the SF boys have the day off on this one.
