I am prepping my gear for yet another round in the sandbox and trying to find a way to mount my tac-light between my foregrip and the Picatinny rail. Preferably I am looking for something to keep the side-to-side profile thin with the tac-light directly below the barrel and the foregrip below the tac-light. Thanks for the help.

Check out CAA and Mako Security.

By your description, it sounds like Mako's offerings will be your best bet.

It's kind of hard for me to describe adequately. I was never a big fan of the old pressure pads, particularly since my only option in the old days was to simply tape the thing down. In the end I settled on something where I could just tap the switch with my thumb. Unfortunately I no longer have the same light mount, just the grip and the light, hence my original question. I guess it would look something like a female Picatinny mount that mounts to the rail on my issue M4 with a ring mount for my tac-light and an additional male rail below for my grip. Not sure if that makes any mores sense.

Oooh, ok, I gotcha' now.

In that case, the only thing I can think of, is nabbing a set of Burris Xtreme Tactical Rings:

As well as a set of Picatinny ring top mounts:

Mounting them together should give you a decent amount of real estate, enough for the vertical grip, anyway.

Hope this helps! :)

P.S. Which flashlight do you have? You might not have enough room to mount both of the scope rings to it. One of them might do the job, though. Also, might as well ask, what vertical grip do you have?

I have a SureFire M951 and an old ARMS #23 Grip. The grip has one of their QD setups, which was nice when I had to clean or my personal favorite turn things into the arms room for extended periods.

Have you considered putting pistol light on your rifle? I've seen that done before.

Not exactly what you described but another option.

Check out the Insight M3X military version or the Surefire Scout light in flat dark earth. The older Surefire M952's and M900A's are heavy. If you're on a budget, try a VLTOR or LaRue Tactical 1" light mount along with a Surefire Nitrolon G2 or G3. Good luck and thanks for your service.

I agree wityhthis option and it seems to be the best solution for you..

Get yourself a nice 6P LED or a G2LED and you are golden...

mount is offsit so it is like a female rail mounted to the sides of your handguard at 2, 4, 8 or 11 o'clock position...

a 6P LED utilize the tail cap switch which you are used to...

the LED lamp are powerful and also don't eat up batteries like the old lamps.

GG&G mounting ring with Blackhawk Gladius 90 lumen light, I have also used this configuration with a Surefire 6P and an E2. No problems overall but have found the Galdius easier to manipulate with a tap from the back of my index finger on my supporting hand than with Surefire lights.

Daniel Defence and LaRue have similar off-set mounts.

I'd definetally take SMGLee's advice. He knows what he's talking about, that's for sure.
