I just spoke with AmmoMan, AIM, and SOG, and they all said that they were out. They had shipments that were supposed to have already come in, but it was not being allowed to dock. WTF!? Hillary, that's what! x39 is gonna eclipse .308 soon, watch! GAWD-D*MANIT! Where is all the F-in' AMMO!? Winchester at 15 bucks a box of 20? F-THAT! PABST BLUE RIBBON!
Oh, and get this, Sportsman's Guide is so backed-up for orders on the x39 that they actually do still have in stock, they are not taking anymore orders right now, because logistically, they are pushed out to August 15th for deliveries of the stuff they have already sold!
WTF!!!!! I'm kickin' and breakin' sh*t in my office right now. I just wanna' go plink Hillary, can I PA-LEASE go plink? Man I'm pissed. :fork:

At this rate, I may have a couple of cheap x39 guns to sell pretty soon.

its also disreputable gun store owners telling people the "ban" is already in effect. Seen some Romainian AK's for over a $1000 with that being the reason as to why.

The ammo problem is over a year old, I would think most people should have gotten the message before the election. Also McCain was a C minus from the NRA. The math wasn't that hard to do.
About the only thing to do is, wait and maybe take up reloading. Even components on reloading could be difficult.

What rifle are you thinking of trading, I have some on hand too and might be interesting in trading.
Firearm with out ammo is a stick or club at best.

HOLLiS; He wants my Galil in 7.62x39. He wants to do the ammo, plus some mags, and other stuff for the rifle. I'm thinking about it. I dunno. I'll decide tomorrow. This really sucks. It's what I get for thinking things will work out fine. I'm wondering if I should just give up my x39's all together, and just shoot .223 and .308. I have a bunch of 55grn. .223... .308 I'm not so hot on, but that round isn't going anywhere.

That crap is expensive, almost a dollar per round from my past dealings with it.
I picked up 1000rds of golden tiger for 80 bucks at a private gun show 6 months ago.

I think Wolf supply always dries up in the Winter - last couple of years it was due to some ports freezing up or someone not paying their vodka tab to the elected officials - by now it's becoming a pattern. Next fall, realize that Wolf is out of season and stock up for the winter months or just wait until the spring...

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
I apparently forgot a comma in my request to QUEEN Hillary to exercise my constitutional right to go to the bathroom by myself. Sorry. Plinking means shooting Beer Cans, or whatever, out in the country on private property. I was calling her a B*tch--which she is--not sassily implying dreadful things. I shall remember my comma's from now on. D*mn.
The Ammo: Yeah, I just want some cheapo ammo to have fun with. I don't think I'm willing to give up a rifle for expensive ammo that I don't need. Surely some more Wolf will come down the pipe soon.

You know, Obama this, AWB Ban that, Ammo shortage there...I really thought that was the talk of a bunch of paranoid people. I figured people would freak-out for a little while, but after a few months, things would settle down, and go back to normal. Live your life, pay your taxes, take care of your family, buy some rifles to love and adore, and stare, for the most part, at them in your Gun Safe on Saturday night, whilst you have a couple of beers, and love being an American for awhile; maybe go plink or target shoot a few times a year.
I guess I was wrong. Folks are going off the deep end, ammo is outrageous all of the sudden, attitudes are bordering upon Gestapo levels, and the one thing that is mine, that I love to do as a hobby, is starting to slip out of my reach. Maybe I'll just sell my crap, keep a deer rifle, and a shotty, and a .22, and become a hermit. Our little time in history is starting to really suck. Strange, I used to be a happy, mostly contented man. People have gotten a real stump up their a*s these days. I'm depressed.
ok, I'm done ranting; f*ck it.

The ammo problem has been going on for over a year.
I bought some battle packs SA 7.62 Nato for $125.00/1000 not long ago. Last spring it was $120.00 - $130.00/200 rds.
Nothing to do with Obama.

I think we all feel on the abused side of life. Year ago they where blaming it on China, buying up raw material. That maybe part of it, also companies that sell it, like the idea of making more money.
Not sure how ling this panic will last. A lot of pro-gun people are feeding it too. Not to mention some of the laws that are coming up.

Hehe, now that I no longer look for work 24/7 - the reloading rig is starting to crawl out of the storage boxes, little by little p-)
Alternative to Wolf is Privi Partizan Yugo 7.62x39 - 1000 rounds come in a nice steel can in wooden box, most of the stuff I shot was from the 80's and on 10 round stripper clips. Much more accurate than Wolf, much cleaner, boxer primed and deliciously reloadable. The cost is marginally more, but it's a lot better ammo for the buck - I find it just as accurate as the stuff that comes packaged in 20 round boxes...
Granted that you could sell once-shot brass to people like myself for a fair penny and make your time on hands and knees make Privi cost the same as Wolf p-)

It's:
"Prvi Partizan Uroševac" (not "Privi"), "PPU" in ciliric letters ("ППУ") on the bottom of the round. And yes, it's very fine ammo. Much, much better than that Bulgarian gray ammo we had to shot with in Slovenian army. That Bolgarian ammo scatered like chicken feed.
(But than again, those Bulgarian AK's didn't help either...)
"ППУ", on the other hand, was conisistent, acurate and reliable.
Specialy combined with Yugo AK's or SKS.

Not entirely, no, but the prices will soon likely reflect the current balance in our government system. Nancy Peloci has been pushing bills for years on strict "assault weapons" bans. She sure hasn't given up on it either, only now shes targeting ammunition more so than the weapons.
She proposed obscene tax increases on all ammunition that can pierce the most minimal body armor a police officer may wear. What ammunition exactly does that leave out? Hurray I can still squirrel hunt!
When she pushes that through this year, its likely its going to get passed. We already know a AWB is most likely coming, this ammunition tax would just be the icing on the cake. The libs are just waiting for one of the Supreme Court justices to get out, they know it's just a matter of time.
Somehow saying "I told you so" to all the people who called pro-second amendment advocates "paranoid" just won't do it.

Mate, I would have taken care of you on the Sa stuff for allot less than that p-)
I had a bunch I sold to fund my reloader, dies, components and all that.
I do like shooting the Privi .308 though,it's quite accurate at long distances.

Just have a 2-3 week delay between ordering and shipping.
Both Wideners and AIMSurplus have been getting more and more of my business, especially since Ammo-To-Go started buying cheap surplus .30-06 from CMP to sell at 200% mark-up.

I like Privi, they make ammo, that is not as common and at a great price (compared to Norma). And the best part, Boxer primed.

Privi ammo is also sold under the "Wolf Gold" brand in the US - at considerable mark up...
I've shot some 7.62x39 surplus by Norma - it made me miss Yugo stuff dearly. Could have been bad storage, but I got three primers that failed to ignite the main charge out of less than 60 rounds... The rest are getting pulled for brass and bullits. But then you can keep Yugo tins in a swamp for all intents and purposes p-)
I've read an article few years back on the Privi factory and there is some key difference they have that allows them to turn out all kinds of rare and obsolete brass at no additional expense - I forget what it is though p-)

Yeah, I saw that, but I just can't bring myself to shoot that corrosive crap through my precious baby's. (One of which is a never fired, still in the paper, Tula '54 SKS. I was debating about busting it's cherry next weekend. A relative bought it in '93 and kept it in a safe all these years. It was given to me for Christmas, but I've been busy until now.)
I've got a virgin '55 Tula SKS, which I bought in 1995 and have thus far resisted the urge to shoot.
Some Finnish netstore prices for you:

The PRIVI Yugo ammo is slightly corrosive and some of the best quality I have ever shot. Why get dirty twice or worry if you forgot to clean it? Clean the rifle at the range and don't sweat it. I use the 'Ed's Red" home made formula, works great.

I for one, don't go to gun shows, IMO mostly rip offs. But from what I'm hearing from all those who do go is, the people are going f*ckin' crazy! The lines are a mile long, the prices have gone much higher than normal, and most of the huge ammo dealers are selling out early! The only time I can remember this happening in recent times  (and not even this bad) is during Y2K (ha. ha, remember that) and 9-11... Besides all the obvious, which worries the sh*t out of me also, alot also has to with the dealers starting rumors and stirring sh*t up along w/the prices!
