It allows the crew to rotate the gun through 6400 mils (a full circle) without having to take the time to dig in the trails

You know, many armies have been moving guns for quite a long time now. I would imagine that they have found a way to do it in relative safety... :roll:

I'm pretty sure he didin't mean a hand grenade. In his language artillery rounds and mortar bombs are called grenades.

Nonetheless, I doubt any of them would be jumping over the trails while carrying any rounds p-)
