POTUS salutes...work on it. Since our current commander in chief has never served in the military...during the election process i always wondered if he would be able to manage a proper return salute from his military guards, escorts, etc. Better than I expected, but still he needs to work on it, bring that arm up and flatten that hand, etc.

When Obama gets off the helicopter, do the Marines turn and face in the same direction as Obama is going?

I believe they stand at a 90 degree angle to the steps as seen in the photo and remain in that position without turning. I do not know how long they stand at the position but would assume they are there at least until the pres is safely in the whitehouse. I think the purpose of the location at the steps to Marine one is to assist the pres in coming down those steps, in case he trips.

That's just the look of quiet professionalism,typical Marine Corps look;President Obama gives a good salute for never having served-no complaints from me

Yeah, instead of working on fixing the multitude of overwhelmingly serious issues that face his administration, he should take time out to practise his saluting.

Imagine the impact that will have on the recession alone...:roll:
