Russian Ambassador may be expelled from Ukraine

Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has rebuked ‘the hostile and extremely undiplomatic’ comments by Russian ambassador Viktor Chernomyrdin. Kyiv has threatened to expel the diplomat for his recent blunt interview, Russia Today reports.
The official protest was voiced by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Vladimir Ogryzko on Tuesday, although he didn’t specify which of Chernomyrdin’s words had offended Ukraine.
The Russian Kommersant daily paper said the reason for the move was an interview with the top diplomat published in Ukraine’s Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper on February 11. This was later confirmed by the foreign minister himself.

Nobody understands Chernomyrdin’s words when he speaks ;)

Well, it seems many in Ukraine don't understand what exactly caused the fury of their Foreign Minister. I scanned Unian and Ukrainian press this morning: the Prime Minister says she is not sure why her FM is going ballistic and the Parliament's largest party is demanding the Foreign Minister's resignation for being undiplomatic. On the top of it, Russian FM threatened by "grave response" if the threat will be carried out.

Either this is another provocation aimed at souring the relations further, or Chernomyrin needs a recall for diplomatic lessons BEFORE it's too late.

I just checked again the Russian and Ukrainian sources.

According to Interfax, Ukrainian PM's spokesman criticized Ukraine's FM again and called his threats to expel Russian Ambassador "unacceptable and bordering on threats of military action"

In his turn, the Ambassador said he is 'not the afraid at all' (I could not translate the Russian saying he used).
