Spokesman of the Headquarters of Ingushetian Armed Forces (Mujahideen), who identified himself as Commander (Amir) Assadullah, contacted Kavkaz Center news and information agency over the phone and reported the following information:
«Early morning of June 22, in accordance with the ratified plan of combat operations, combined units of Ingushetian Forces (Mujahideen) and mobile squads from Chechnya attached to them entered a number of cities and villages of Ingushetia and attacked the positions of Russian invaders and Ingushetian [pro-Moscow] police».
«The entire mission has been accomplished as planned. During the combat operations seven military and police bases have been annihilated or partially burned. The building of Ingushetian police has been destroyed. 150 to 200 pro-Russian policemen and Russian invaders have been eliminated. Over 300 invaders and pro-Russian policemen have been wounded. 23 units of various military vehicles have been burned. We have captured two vehicles and weapons as spoils of war».
«We are denying any reports claiming that our units allegedly attacked civilian targets or civilians. This is a lie. We targeted military facilities and the enemies armed to their teeth. And we have hit these targets».
«On special order, the units of Ingushetian traffic police and Emergencies Ministry were excluded from the targets of our units and have not been attacked».
«At 3:15 AM on June 22 our units withdrew from all previously entered cities and villages in an organized manner. At the present moment (17:15 Moscow Time) our main forces reached their military bases. The remaining backup units are engaged in local combat operations to thwart the enemy’s attempts to block the movement of our main forces. Backup units have handled their assignment well. Battles are now going on in several isolated parts of Ingushetian south. Several reconnaissance teams of our Armed Forces (Mujahideen) engaged in a firefight with the enemy’s Spetznaz (special forces)».
«The overall casualties of our Forces in these battles that took place in cities and villages, when military and police bases were stormed, as well as when our Armed Forces were withdrawing, were 6 Mujahideen dead and 14 wounded. The total number of forces involved in the operation was one advancement battalion operating in accordance with the headquarters’ schedule adopted by the Armed Forces’ Command».
«All assigned combat missions have been accomplished. Combat operations against the invaders’ forces and puppet police on the territory of Ingushetia will be continued. We have set up special reconnaissance [pro-Moscow] police and Russian FSB (KGB) for the past several months and exposing the persons involved in kidnappings and murders of Ingushetian Muslims and displaced settlers from Chechnya. Specific work will be conducted with these persons, as far as their physical removal».
«Besides, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that Murad Zyazikov, who claims to be president of Ingushetia, has not taken any action to stop the tyranny in the Republic, in spite of the serious warning that he received when he nearly lost his life. No one is going to warn Zyazikov any longer».
