Well, if these banks are going to get 2.5 trillion more dollars, then why the hell not? I don't think they should be infused with the amount of taxpayer money they have been (With more to come) without being nationalized.

well, yes, I'd say nationalise the profits as well then and cut the wages.
Can't stand that the tax payer is financing banker bonus systems ..
Let them fall. It will be much cheaper.

Nationalize, bail out, what does it matter? The government elite will do as they will to devalue the dollars in my wallet and then tax me more later on for the favor of keeping some crooks in a failing con… eer, I mean business. They won’t let them fail. The cons and shills are so interwoven, dependent on one another that they will make damn well sure I pay for it hook or crook to keep the both of them stepping on my incomes neck.
China has a lot of money how about we have a liquidation sale and let these crooks move to Shanghai. At least then the shoe will fit the wearers.

Sad part is that you could most likely fit all the people responsible for this situation in one conference room....

Would have to be a pretty big conference room to hold every person who took a mortgage they couldn't afford, assumed more credit card debt than they could manage and voted for candidates who advocated extending home ownership to people who couldn't afford it.

Home ownerships is a great way to fight communismp-). Once you're an owner you are not interested in collectivist ideas.
There was an interesting show on PBS about mortgages and the crisis and how we got there.
Let's also not forget the people who gave these loans knowing that these people cannot afford it, and then quickly sold those loans on the stock markets, claiming it was an excellent investment.

You take unearned money from the Government you become a slave to it. DON'T take government handouts!

All the people on Wall Street and in Government went to school together in North Eastern US universities. Maybe we should shut Harvard down

Talking about the Congressmen and policy people who allowed and pushed for easy credit. Banks would never lend to these people prior to the early 90's.

So where does the Government get this money? The taxpayer 15 or 20 years down the road. How? The Fed loans this money at interest to the Treasury. The Fed is essentially a group of powerful international banking houses. They have gold to back it, the have most of ours. They also hold our economic value to put more debt upon. So banks loaning money to the taxpayer to bail out banks. Brilliant!!! Then they will flood the Reserve banks with cash, create more inflation and by the time Obama is up for election they will be ready for the Big solution. An International Reserve Bank in which all currencies are regulated. Much more powerful than our own Government. IMO this is what the "crisis" is about.
Before someone says Treasury notes, we could not move enough of those to pay for the Presidential Helicopter fleet.

I know it's only a drop in the bucket but the US has pledged 900 million to rebuild Gaza. Are they like a state or something? (sarcasm)
These banking crooks that swindled the American Public knows that they can take the money and run. It's not like the government will not bail out the banks. No credit, every thing comes to a screeching halt. We will just turn to our future chinese masters for more cash infusions.
