Everyday I see news reports from around the world and they seem to stress how bad the economy is but is it really that bad? I hear of rising unemployment everywhere except where I live. I also hear of lots of people going broke but thats not the case here either. So I figured since this message board has users from different nations it would be the best place to ask. Which countries are seeing the worst effects of the recession?

Best to ask the question, which countries are not being effected ?

Who is affected by the economic crisis? In no particular order:
Countries that rely on a strong banking sector (eg. UK or Ireland)
Countries that rely on export business (eg. Japan, Germany or China)
Countries that rely on high resources prices (eg. Russia or Venezuela)
Not to forget US of A and any other country with a notable industry or banking sector.

Also countries that have relied on short term loans to finance deficits. Loans which are now difficult and/or expensive to renew. Iceland comes to mind. Latvia.
