Hey!
I have a question about the probability to re-zero an optic after you changed it.I have an Aimpoint with a Knights Armament mount on my M4 and want to change it against a scope for longer ranges.
When I mount my Aimpoint again,is it zeroed or not?I havenīt done this before and it isnīt allowed to zero it by yourself an our ranges.Otherwise I have to pay that a gun smith zero it again.

it all depends on how good the mount is.
it's possible that the POI will change a bit but not so much to be a problem with the Aimpoint since it's not a super-sniper-scope.

Thanks for the info!Iīwill try it.The longest distance with the Aimpoint was 100m but you hardly see the black on the target. We want to shoot at 300m and thatīs impossible with the Aimpoint.

that's what I meant.
an Aimpoint is designed to hit a human target not to made tight groups...with a quality mount (like KAC, LaRue, ADM, etc) it should be hard to tell if the POI change is caused by the mount, ammo, large reticle, shooter, etc.

What you want to do is find what ever optic you want to use, buy a good mount, such as American Defense or LaRue for quick detachable with return to zero capable. This will give your magnififed scope the ability to be detached and attached without losing the zero, but if I were you, I usually confirm zero of any optic that you removed from time to time... regardless of the mount you have.
As far as the KAC Aimpoint mount, those are good mounts and you just need to mark the location of the rail address you zero the Aimpoint at and also remember how may turns to tighen the wingnut...you can remember the turns you require to tighten and then use a nail polisher and mark the spot with atab on te wingnut and the mount body to match the alignment....this will ensure your CQB optic will return to +/- one MOA, which are good enough for your purpose.

We qualify at 300m w/ an Aimpoint. Try turning the brightness down.
