Ok, so i'm guessing that Arab states will put a stop to to the very tolerant cartoons which are published in their newspapers - including state owned ones, like these from Qatar for example(owned by Qatar's foreign) minister):

Now we see why the UN is in need of substantive reform, when there's this nonsense going around disguised as "protection of culture".
You can have all your anti-blasphemy laws, but your national right to such legislation ENDS at your border. This should not have been allowed to be passed under the ambit of international law, because we all know that this is a subjective matter that you cannot ever realistically hope to foist on every state in the world.
Religion is not a compulsion, and hence, any concern for legal enforcement of religious sensitivity should be limited to national borders that subscribe to that religion and uses it as a basis for their national legal system.

It doesn't matter what matter what happens the everyday public will say what they want
And i shall quote a line from the Iron Maiden song " Journeyman "
I'll say what i want and do what i want and nobody can take it away !!!
Also if that goes through the recent film "Doubt" would be withdrawn from the Cinema ..

This is a lock and load issue for many Americans. I believe the saying goes, "I disagree with everything you are saying, but I will fight for the right for you to say it". If a president wanted to he could easily justify pulling out of the UN and expelling it from the country if this passed.

How is that blaspheming the Jewish Relegion? it seems to be more about the Jewish lobby in the US. However making fun of The Virgin Mary and Jesus for someone's own amusement is called blasphemy, like what happened in Chanel 10 in Israel.

It isn't blasphemy just antisemitism, you know Jews are responsible for all wars, Jews control the world, etc... with the addition of Jews are Satan stereotypes (nose, sharp teeth, claws).
It was blasphemy though it isn't against the law and thank god it isn't. It wasn't funny at all but not because it's blasphemy but simply because they didn't come up with funny stuff. There's plenty of funny satire on Jews and it doesn't make much noise. If you want one example it's Southpark and the episode with the Jewish gold or the episode where Cartman is Hitler and tries to kill all the Jews.

Nope, he is absolutly right. The Cartoons are not blasphemic at all, they are highly antisemitic wich is much worse. Remind me of Cartoons published in "Der Stürmer", the antisemitic paper of the Nazis.
Blasphemy is making fun of a weird fictional ideology called religion. I have no problem with that becouse I consider any religion a ridiculous concept but antisemitism or any kind of racism is very real and shouldnt be tolerated. I see resonable limits of freedom of speach, but not regarding religion.

Don't be deliberately dense. It is using and promoting an over the top and odiously disrespectful caricature of Jews - people who either are by birth or practice the Jewish religion. If you're going to lampoon Jewish lobbyists, then the cartoon (to be effective) needs to be a more accurate portrayal of said lobbyists. Go look for images of HOWARD KOHR and DAVID HARRIS, they're Jewish lobbysists. I think they look like Episcopalians myself.

This resolution is absurd and vaguely laughable. Unfortunately many countries restrictions on "hate speech" might help smooth the way for going along with it.

Maybe too draconian, but I would stop it from having any legal rights in public life or over basic and fundamental freedoms. Contradictory? Maybe.

There are no posts on this page that I could much or at all disagree with. The worry is widespread on my mind, when the EC's Human Rights Commission writes that Hungary has a too strong legal base in support of free speech and opinion, the left over - hardly existing grin freezes on my face - , just what you need, to make do away with such civil rights for the sensitivity of some people. I wonder if this sensitivity is actually, a complete inability to understand free speech or what else.
Anyhow, does anyone know if this ever got abolished, if not, all these guys can go to a place:
A szólásszabadság az Emberi jogok egyetemes nyilatkozata (1948) szerint elidegeníthetetlen jog.
Az Európai Emberi Jogi Bíróság egy 1976-os határozata úgy fogalmaz, hogy „a szólás szabadsága nemcsak azokra az 'információkra' és 'eszmékre' vonatkozik, amelyeket az emberek jó néven vesznek […], hanem azokra is, amelyek bántják, felháborítják vagy zavarják […] a lakosság bármely részét”.
'Freedom of Speech is an undeniable right according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948.
A resolution of the European Human Rights Court from 1976 states: freedom of speech includes not only those 'informations and ideas' that people like, but also those, that any part of the population feel disturbed or upset by.'
I'd be very worried, if it was scrapped, there will always be someone who don't like what you say, if not so, there is no free speech.
PS: Sorry about the fluffy translation.
