Ok heres one, which regiment has urban training facilities if any and is it done? I saw some pic's somewhere on this site about Canadian forces going down to the US, some state on the border, doing a urban training like course? Don't we do that up here as part of training?

As far as I know reserve (and reg) regiments in the CF are not responsible for the construction of their own FIBUA (MOUT, call it what you like...urban warfare training) facilities. The facilites are provided by and found on some CFBs. And Canadian units do such traing in the US just because they can.

Foofighter watch Truth Duty Valor on the outdoor life network. It is usuallyon on Sundays. They have en episode with the Vandoos training Mout at a U.S. facility. Pretty cool stuff.

I saw that and really like the part of the Sniper dude.

Other then that Swat teams, and RCMP anti terrorist teams would be pretty intresting.

Cheers!

There is a live fire facility in downtown Detroit...don't know if it's for training, or if it had anything to do with the military... ;)

Canadian forces going down to the US, some state on the border,if they just went across the border, i'd think theyd go to Vermont,
to the Mountain Warfare Scool.

Though I'm not the leading authority on this, here's what I can tell you.
We have a FIBUA sites on any Army Training Centre (ATC) such as Meaford, and a lot of the CFB's have them as well. From the ones I've used in Canada, and from what I've heard of the American ones, ours are pretty lo-tech.
But we're not just limited to those. My unit, along with a combat engineer unit used an empty (for sale) school, and conducted some fibua ops with simunition. It's good to switch up the environments because, especially at meaford, you get painfully used to the buildings you use, and the element of surprise and lack of knowledge is lost. Also, another unit that trains in the same armouries has build a modular "building" out of wood, that fit inside of the armouries, which we use on training nights to practise our skills.
Most reserve units based out of major cities spend a large amount of training for FIBUA, more so then rural units.

Ft. Drum is a popular destination, so is Knox.

Meaford's FIBUA facility is a rather poor example IMO, larger CFBs (Gagetown, Edmonton, Val etc.) have significantly better facilities.
