Yo

Lookin' for a new watch that's good and reliable, looks good in a snowstorm, party, AND an interview... etc...

Always been interested in the "Soviet" watches you can find online. I'm wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction. I imagine some of the watches are junk or repro's that don't keep time. Been looking at various sites for a while now.

Anyone got any advice on these? Something Ruskie, classy, solid...

Thanks!

my father had a "kommandirskie" watch during his army time - lost it in a swamp and found it again a week later - were still working like a charm.
Later bought "Generalskie" but they turned out to be a fake and stopped working very soon.

That's the lineup I'll probably go with, Vostok Kommandirskie. Something that looks real Russian, but no tank on it or anything too elite extreme PKM-Headshot.

Only stuff I could find last night was in the $1,200 range. Looked nice, though. ;-)

Go to Russia and get one.
I bought a Chinese Communist watch during a trip to Beijing (picture of Mao, arm raised and waving to a crowd, his arm served as the second hand of the ticking clock. With each second passing, he waved (tick tick tick = wave wave wave).
It was a pretty funny and unique watch, but couldn't keep good time for $hit.
