About three weeks ago the weir of the River torrens in the city of adelaide South Australia Malfunctioned and was raised causing the torrens to drain. The Rann goverment said it was a malfunction.
But the river had become polluted and there were the first sights of alge blume about to accure as well. I have the strong feeling that the goverment knew that the river was now a health risk and despite the drought it was better for public health to pull the plug and call it a malfunction.
