They might as well include the knee / elbow pads, if they are going to sell this **** so expensive. Retarded price for basically the same kind of uniform material as **** ACU / BDU / or any other uniform is made out of.

Just paying for the name.

I have a 2004 era Crye Desert Field uniform and the quality and durability is quite a bit higher than ACUs. I say more power to them. I bet even with the current state of our economy, Crye will sell out quickly, and the vast majority of this stuff will go to airsofters and range commandos.

I saw that too, but that belt has soft armor in it. It's still a bit pricey though.

I have actually, and it's nothing spectacular. Crye products are even issued to soldiers... Nothing much though, just a ballistic NAPE pad.

But you on the other hand, have some sort of disgusting fetish for Crye and you have no real reason to be using it other than what James said above, Airsofters and range nerds. ;)

Hahahahaha

PG18, yes, select SOF units use Crye uniforms. Woopity do. Regular units don't have the money for the stuff. Regular soldiers don't have the money to blow on a single uniform when they get their yearly clothing allowance. Crye might be a little better quality, but they can suck it as far as I'm concerned.

I typed my post wrong, I have regular Crye products OTHER than an issued NAPE that I was issued. I am not impressed by the quality of their uniforms especially for the price they sell them at. If they want to sell their stuff for 150 plus, it better be made out of splattered flecks of freaking gold or silver.

Guilty as charged....

http://photos.imageevent.com/smglee/clt2/large/Barracade.jpg

But having loose fitting cammie on the range is just make it easier for the shooter to run, kneel, ****e, get it dirty or even ripped...my jeans are usually not as comfortable to wear. plus the true spec pants I have have that build in knee pad pocket for those time you need to drop to a quick kneel for a timed shot.

the 5.11 TDU I had were not as good as the ACU cut pants especially with knee pad...the knee pads actually pull the pants down when you go to a knee...that is why the new Crye pants has that elastic material above the knee area...

this goes back to the TAD gear pants.. it is cut kind of large and very comfortable, it is just damn expensive, its not 180.00 Crye expensive, but even with my my discount, it is still 30% more than I can buy a pair of the True Spec on ebay for. ... so back to the true spec pants for my fat A$$

Crye clothing was designed for among other reasons to provide comfortable clothing for athletic movement and depolyment of firearms. So why shouldn't someone who attends a range take advantage of that again?

Wicking torso for instance. It's hot in the Summer at the range and if you don't want to be fishing for mags chance are you're wearing a chest rig of some sort. The shirt provides also full length sleeves that have elbow pads so that you can be more comfortable in the ****e position. The pants have stretch fabric around the waist making them comfortable and easier to move in than denim jeans. Plus, again they have comfortable knee pads in the pants.

Tougher material also means you don't ruin civi clothing and the multicam pattern hides dirt and stain requiring less washing or care.

A pair of hiking pants or BDU pants and an under armor shirt would accomplish pretty much everything there and would be much cheaper. Add in hatch elbow and knee pads and you're good to go. The hatch pads don't fall down or feel uncomfortable either. I'm just saying.

The Crye pads stay in place very well. I'm not fan of seperate elbow or knee pads and I do find them uncomfortable.

Besides what the hell do you care?

What are you the fashion police of Ranges?

Should we all make an effort to look like we're not trying to "make an effort" and isn't that more playing "dress-up" than just wearing comfortable functional clothing we like?

I'll never get you folks. Call people out for wearing certain clothing and then recommend they wear certain clothing.

Frankly, I could honestly care less what people think about the pair of pants or shirt I have choosen to wear to the range. I'll pay more for things that I feel are more functional and higher quality. It's my money, it's my range time, and nobody is saying that you have to ever wear a single item made by Crye since we wouldn't want you to worry that folks thought you were being "tacticool." Reminds me of when I first had a cell phone and would hear people make comments about me having a cell phone like I was trying to look special when now everyone has one.

Actually, real operators get stuff issued to them.

I think everyone is now aware that:

A) Crye is selling things online again, and
B) That there are plenty of civilians who will never hear a shot fired in anger who want this stuff, and will get it.

Let's bid this thread adieu.
