Hate cleric leads jihad cash appeal
Anjem Choudary, who led protests against returning British troops, has urged his followers to send money to 'mujaheddin'

AN Islamic cleric, whose supporters led a hate-filled protest against British troops returning from Iraq, has urged his followers to give cash to front-line mujaheddin fighters.

A recording has emerged of Anjem Choudary, a self-styled sharia judge and former leader of the banned group Al-Muhajiroun, telling his followers to stop spending their money on their families and divert it to Muslim soldiers waging jihad, or holy war.

There were demands for Choudary to be investigated by police. He has previously called for British women to be forced to wear burqas and for adulterers to be killed.

I wonder how long it will be until our friends in Canada are hosting the UK Government in Exile. You folks north of the lower-48 are going to be able to use all that land to house displaced Britons.

Well, most Western countries unfortunately seem to be having issues with Muslim extremists. Hopefully, this man will be prosecuted to the full if the evidence can hold up in court.

Its important to remember though that in the UK, the Muslim population forms only 2-3% of the population and most Muslim people living in Britain are decent, hard-working and loyal.

What worries me in a wider context is some of the hysteria in the right-wing UK press. The recent, disgusting, extemist protest in Luton against UK troops involved a handful of Islamist idiots who were rightfully chased off the streets by the locals. However, papers such as the Daily Mail and the Daily Express lead with that story on their front pages for days afterwards. It would be the equivalent of the US press leading for several days with one of those disgusting Westboro Baptist Church protests.

Having devoted reams of pages to these publicity seeking thugs, vigilantes managed to work out where one of the protestors lived and smashed up the windows to his house/car. Now the Daily Mail is 'outraged' that police are protecting the property from further damage. :roll: The police can't win with some of the hysteria that the UK press produces.

At least , in my experiece, other countries' media try and put events in context and have a bit of perspective on things.

I say if criminal actions take place, charge these idiots. If these hide within the law, the best bet is to deprive these people of the oxygen of publicity.

The idiotic protests in Luton served only to improve attendance for other homecoming parades (Lincoln recently held the largest attendance at such a parade since VE -Day). It was telling that in Luton, one of Britain's most diverse towns, a mass leafleting campaign by extemists to draw out protest against the soldiers' parade led to an embarrassing attendance of less than 20 people.
